Signal 99 has spent a long time debating whether we should even weigh-in on the upcoming Hamilton County Republican GOP Party Chairman election at all.
Why? Because we understood the risk.
If we endorsed the “Old Guard” candidate, we risked alienating the Grass Roots Conservatives who are desperately trying to inject energy back into a Party that has been hemorrhaging Republicans in Hamilton County for years.
So many Conservatives have fled to other Counties—and even other states that border us.
Yet if we endorsed the Grass Roots candidate…we risked alienating longtime Republicans and party loyalists who have continued showing up and carrying water for the Party through some very difficult years.
But over the last several weeks, something has changed.
Several Precinct Executives quietly reached out to us asking the same question:
“Who do you think can actually recharge this Party?”
Honestly…that matters. It matters because people are tired of watching Hamilton County continue drifting further and further into Liberal insanity while Republicans are too busy bickering and dividing the party.
Grass Roots—or Old Guard…we all have the same concerns. Josh Gerth is a great guy—and so is Bob Ruehlman. This was a tough, yet carefully thought out decision.
Violent crime. Skyrocketing taxes. Soft-on-crime policies.
Government overspending. Judges who seem more interested in social experiments than in accountability. A City government that often appears more concerned with optics than outcomes.
People are frustrated—and they should be.
So after a great deal of discussion and reflection, Signal 99 is endorsing Josh Gerth for Chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party.
Not because we believe perfection exists in politics—it doesn’t. Not because we agree with every single person in every political faction—we don’t.
But because Hamilton County Republicans need energy again. They need people willing to get involved, recruit candidates, fundraise, campaign, register voters, knock doors, and actually fight to take this County back instead of simply managing decline while Cincinnati slides closer and closer towards becoming Chicago, Portland or Los Angeles.
And let’s be very clear about something else—Signal 99 does not exclusively vote or endorse Red.
We have openly supported Democrats such as Dusty Rhodes and Dr. Sammarco because they were actual Democrats—not modern-day, screeching harpee Liberals.
We support people who believe in Public Safety.
Accountability. Functional government—and communities where law-abiding people do not feel abandoned by the very institutions designed to protect them.
Hamilton County Republicans have a decision to make next week. This is not an election that the general public gets to vote in—but you can absolutely make your voices heard, by contacting your precinct executives, or even by commenting on this post…believe me—they are watching.
Continue doing things the same way and hope somehow the results magically change—or light a fire under this Party…
We believe Josh Gerth has the fire and passion to unite the party and represents not just what we want—but what we need.
It’s time to shake things up…even Jesus cracked a whip and flipped tables—let’s come together and do this!

We're allowed to second-guess the manager of the Reds, even if we're excited about who the manager of the Reds is, right?
The number of people with their head either up their... Or in the sand is staggering.
You can say it as much as you want, but the amount of money being used for crap is astounding. If you don't care, then you have lost all right to complain about the federal debt, or
Prices…or damn near anything.
I know that the sports media business is changing & streaming is becoming more prevalent, but it's absolutely ridiculous that today's Crosstown Shootout between Cincinnati & Xavier is not on linear television.
A miscarriage of justice!
And a disservice to college basketball!
That was a terrific college basketball game in Atlanta.
Fun to watch UK play in the Champions Classic with a coach who actually seemed to care about winning in it.
In my 16+ years at ESPN, this was my favorite moment. #VeteransDay 2016. Reporting live from Arlington National Cemetery with my dad by my side, and my grandfather - a Buffalo Soldier - buried just over the hill behind us. THANK YOU to all veterans, especially my favorite vet, Colonel (RET) Gary R. Steele aka Dad ❤️
