The Crochet trade/follow up extension is the best thing Breslow has done and I think it’s incredibly silly to start a discourse on it because a guy hit one home run.
We need more aggressive moves for star players, not fewer.
@CostanzaMu15736@T0THEFL0WERS Regardless of how Crochet looks going forward it’s a trade you make 100 times out of 100. Aces are so rarely available on the trade market.
@schneiderbrett9 I’m with ya, I’m a huge Casas guy. It’s just an “I’ll believe it when I see it” thing health wise at this point. If he ever gets healthy again I have no doubt he’ll be a very good big league hitter.
Trading Willson Contreras after not having a real first baseman for half a decade would be unwise. I don’t know why anyone wants this. Getting some team’s 5th and 11th best prospect or whatever just so you can say you got value would be garbage.
News from @PeteAbe: Garrett Crochet told the Globe that his lat strain “is a lot worse than what we thought” and he has “no idea” when he might get cleared to throw.

@LordLambdaThree Exactly. If you’re going to trade guys, there need to be answers for who is gonna take over at that spot next year. This isn’t going to be a multi year rebuild.
@Indigo6553@RafaelaEnjoyer There are no first basemen in the system to replace him and free agency sucks for bats this year. The next steps have to be considered here too.
@Indigo6553@RafaelaEnjoyer Can’t really trade Contreras though, he needs to be part of the next contending team. The lack of good veterans has really hurt the team this year. I wouldn’t trade Whit either. He should take over at closer.
The Breslow firing should happen tonight.
Craig’s attempt to shift blame elsewhere by shaking up the coaching staff didn’t work. Everyone in the dugout looks completely dejected.
Fire him tonight. Take the day off in Boston tomorrow to meet with players. Give the interim CBO a month and a half to get their bearings before draft/deadline time. Sell what you can to get ammo for the new guy you bring in. Start searching for candidates now so you can hire them ASAP in September-November. Let that person hire their own manager.
There’s no reason to continue like this.
@RedSoxEnjoyer24@xenoizsleeping “Please don’t tell me there were people who thought he was going to be good” is not a nice post! You’re judging people for doing something you did as well. What aren’t you getting about this?
@RedSoxEnjoyer24@xenoizsleeping I’m on west coast time so it was morning for me. You’ve “admitted you’re wrong” but then just keep chirping at people demanding they tell you why they think you’re a bad account. It’s because of shit like this!
@RedSoxEnjoyer24@xenoizsleeping You gotta stop this, man. You’ve been in my comments all morning replying to different people. Either accept the criticism and try to change or accept that there are people out there who don’t like the way you post and move on. This isn’t healthy.
@SameOldDevil I still watch a lot of the bigger WWE events but the week to week just isn’t for me anymore. I wish it wasn’t the case cause I do really enjoy a lot of the people who work there.
@EdHand89 I’m beginning to think the biggest mistake was never forcing Breslow to hire a GM/second hand man. Because a lot of his individual moves are good to great. But they don’t add up to a cohesive team. Another voice in the room might be able to help with that.
And yes I do think Montgomery will end up being a good Major leaguer. You traded 4 good prospects, chances were always high some of them would pan out. That’s the trade off for getting an ace!
