Sick of media being analyzed through a racial lens when the media itself gives the viewer no basis at all to do so. Are themes of race, culture, etc actually present in the text or subtext of the film or is it literally just that you saw a black man and can think of nothing else?
Backrooms is racist film. Itโs technically brilliant, but racist. And itโs a shame during a time where Black studies is being eliminated on college campuses because I fear people are overlooking the obvious tropes and racist callbacks the film ridiculously displays.
@_CharlesPreston Secondly, Iโm sick of media being analyzed through racial lens when the media gives the viewer no basis at all to do so. Are themes of race, ancestry, culture etc actually a part of the movie, or is it just that you saw a black man and can think of nothing else?
@_CharlesPreston Ignoring that many movies have been made with white male protagonists that have checked every thematic box youโve laid out here, can you tell me if it is even possible in your mind to make a movie with a flawed black male as its protagonist or is that just a total no-go for you?
You ignorant asshole! What the fuck coordinates you givinโ? You wasted a lotta people up there, with your fucked up fire mission, you know that?! You know that?!
@AlbertsideB@JesseKNL I regret to say Iโve watched this debate two or three times and it is indeed like a Twilight Zone episode in hindsight considering the current status of all these people lol
