This Labour government knows what its doing.
They had to hand out leaflets teaching migrants not to rape.

They know exactly what the risks are.
And yet they let them keep coming anyway.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the billionaire boss of Ineos, has rescued Britain’s last factory producing critical chemicals used in the UK plastics industry. Runcorn MCP, isthe UK’s last producer of ethylene dichloride, which is used to make PVC. The vital plastic is used for making water pipes, electrical cable, medical tubing and window frames, making it crucial for the construction industry. Sir Jim warned last year that the chemicals industry in Europe was facing “extinction” from the cost of “enormously high energy prices and crippling carbon tax bills”.

Since you've innocently misunderstood the point, let me spell out the obvious even more clearly.

Let's take as an example a woman with MRKH syndrome, who was born with a congenital abnormality: an absent or undeveloped uterus. Notwithstanding that anomaly, she has a reproductive system organised around producing eggs instead of sperm, so she is unambiguously female. No male can have MRKH syndrome; one might even say that MRKH syndrome represents conclusive proof that the individual born with it is female.

I myself was born with a congenital abnormality: a bleeding disorder. I don't consider myself less human because of it, but my blood is demonstrably defective. That still doesn't make me a brand new type of human being, nor does it mean an inability to clot should be considered a standard trait of all human beings.

It's my good fortune that there's no anti-science ideological movement currently trying to hijack bleeding disorders for its own ends. Should that ever happen, though, I can promise you I'll fight to the bitter end not to have my medical history reduced to a glib and ignorant talking point, as gender identity ideologues insist on doing to men and women with DSDs.

Richard Tice clashed with a Sky News presenter over his climate comments and she wouldn’t let it go. Credit to him, he stood firm and made some solid points, especially on water shortages.

She put it to him: record temperatures, large parts of the country in drought, water shortages, and the government claiming 2,877 people have died from the heat.

Tice’s reply: “Computer modelling that’s been proven to be false.”

He went on: “As an island nation, the reality is ten times more people die of extreme cold than extreme heat. As an island nation that’s failed to build a reservoir for 30 years, maybe we should focus on building reservoirs and using desalination plants.”

“The idea that we should be short of water is a disgrace of incompetence, mismanagement and negligence by our water companies and by our government that hasn’t invested in infrastructure. Reform will change that.”

He’s right. The fact we’re short of water as an island nation surrounded by the stuff is a national scandal. That’s not climate change, that’s just blatant incompetence and negligence.

As for the death figures, we know what modelling is like after Covid. Totally unreliable. Essentially guesswork.

With climate change it’s always the same script: “This is it. This is the serious one. It’s here to stay.” Then it doesn’t quite materialise, so they just move the goalposts and carry on.

We had a couple of heatwaves. Big deal.
Blaming everything on climate change is the easy way out. It lets government and the water companies off the hook. Stop it.

While this summer has seen the grid going outside safe operational limits, multiple margin warnings, multiple breaches of interconnector trading limits, several balancing system outages and now apparently a cyber attack

Maybe the DESNZ /NESO/ Ofgem cartel should listen to the warnings of the engineers who actually run the grid and get back to taking care of the basics before it's too late because the consequences of failure are no joke

Labour is effectively reintroducing the hated hearth tax. First imposed by Charles II in 1662, it became one of the most despised taxes of Restoration England. This because its method of assessment gave tax officials the power to enter private homes and inspect them, which people saw as an intolerable intrusion.

Now Labour is giving tax officials the right to enter homes to value them for its pernicious mansion tax. They will be counting not only the fireplaces but lots more besides. Labour clearly haven't learnt from history.
