Thinking of buying an iPhone 16e, which is great for blind users? Wait. iPhone 17e is likely very imminent & will sell at the current 16e price & 16e prices will then drop. 17e has new processor & supports MagSafe. New iPads also expected soon. Details at:https://t.co/Ql1xZDXyUJ

I mentioned Apple's new AirTags at a meeting & was surprised several people weren't aware of these trackers which can be fantastically helpful for VI people. For those who don't know here's a link to my page on AirTags with a note about alternatives. https://t.co/yncufcCv7V
@markgurman Everything I read recently makes no mention of app intents, the technology that would have given Siri enhanced capabilities to perform tasks within apps. Are app intents part of the expected "new Siri" in spring? This could be huge for #accessibility.
A low vision iPad user asked if windows can be resized & moved using VoiceOver because they couldn't easily find the drag handles with their vision. I couldn't find documentation but found this by experiment. Do you know alternatives? https://t.co/U4FWppHWhN
VoiceOver iPhone users, do you know there's a setting which lets you switch a phone call automatically between the earpiece & hands-free over the speaker just by moving the phone away from your ear? It's great when dealing with numeric phone menu systems. https://t.co/As4WOJDFv7
@Kinchbus the Hugo app isn't available for the current version of Android & the iPhone version hasn't been updated for 2 years. Do you have a new recommendation for live Kinchbus arrival times?
@Kinchbus The live departures on the website are now accessible to screen reader users but it's too many steps to get the info. There doesn't seem to be a nearby button to locate buses where I'm waiting. I'd probably miss the bus while fiddling with the website...
It happened again. Someone rushed out to their local phone shop & bought a new iPhone without getting advice first. Phone shops aren't the best sources of advice for blind folk. Please talk first with someone who knows about accessibility. Here's my take: https://t.co/Ql1xZDY6Kh
Apple released iOS and iPadOS 26.1 last night. If you haven't already updated to version 26, this is a good point to update but there are lots of small changes that can initially confuse blind or low vision users. https://t.co/FsPW9DDEnb
@Tesco@BeMyEyes I tried the new Tesco service in store. I hoped to test my Meta glasses as input but didn't get that far. I started the call to Tesco on my phone, listened to a waiting tone for about 5 minutes & then got an error message. Is Tesco staffing central or in-store?
I'm updating https://t.co/0nbB4Lcvx4 for iOS 26. I didn't realise just how many small changes there are that affect VoiceOver. Nothing too awful but several tasks work a bit differently. I adapted automatically but those who follow familiar recipes may have some initial problems.
@MasterMuniza Glad all is well with you. All great here too and happy you find things I publish here useful. It's good to know. Must be time for my second retirement soon but I'll try to keep going for a few more years.
Just been told by an optician who sells & reglazes Ray-Ban Meta glasses that reglazing invalidates the frame warranty. I assume it's the same for Oakley. Not a huge concern but worth considering before you ask an optician to reglaze or do it yourself.https://t.co/v5Oo0kllWD
