@conorsen Guy on Bloomberg yesterday said if it wasn't the goal it was like the Cuban missile crisis in that it was too terrible to think about. Which doesn't strike me as great analysis but seems to explain this psychology
@lokimed_eth16@PeakSeattle I live in lake City. And would argue that instead of targeted subsidy we should build more across the board. Instead of having govt pay for housing we should let private markets build where there's market demand
@lokimed_eth16@PeakSeattle With respect to Boston, it's a nice city, that is extremely expensive to live in. And I really wouldn't want to drive in downtown Boston, always have taken transit.
@lokimed_eth16@PeakSeattle I can afford a single family home in Seattle although have chosen not to buy one. My policy preference is we prioritize availability of housing over charm, and that it's quite possible to have charming yet higher density neighborhoods.
