@DemolishSEblvd@Janeese4DC@kenyanmcduffie Yes. If we’re serious about Vision Zero, we need real accountability for dangerous driving. Too often, out-of-state drivers speed through our streets knowing it’s harder to enforce consequences across state lines. That loophole needs to close.
@Janeese4DC This is not the post you should be reposting as it’s been shown to be a blatant lie. Maybe the one about this being NPS land and local govt trying very hard to keep the lane would have been more honest.
Kody’s account was hacked: they changed the password and did multiple factor auth, emailed him to say the account will be sold if he doesn’t buy it, and is sending links through DM to hack other accounts. Guess what @X is doing to help? NOTHING. They don’t care about their users.
@ankitjaindc I was only referring to the last sentence. Congress could pass a law to change DC Water's budget/authority, but extremely unlikely with a 60 vote threshold (beyond disapproval period). If Congress disapproves of the budget, DC Government cannot force changes to DC Water's budget.
@ankitjaindc That’s an incorrect understanding. I get it’s easy to connect DC Water and DC Government, but in reality, the only impact that DC Government has is the few Board seats they control. Congress does not have oversight over their budget the same way they do over DC Government.
@ankitjaindc Congress has little effect on DC Water. They are an independent authority. It seems you are confusing federal and local government control over them? That’s incorrect.
@FordJohnathan5@TheMaineWonk@GovWesMoore DC Water is not the District government. It is its own entity. It is an independent authority, and has jurisdiction over that pipeline. Please stop spreading misinformation.
@Deathofasource What is? The drinking water intake, owners and operated by the Army Corps of Engineer's, is above this spill. So, the drinking water is not at risk.
