@Petrie_JohnC Streeting knows he is losing his seat at the next g.e. He’s a centre-right Tory at heart. He was more interested in selling off the NHS than saving it. And he vastly over-estimated his popularity within the PLP. Almost Boris-like in his narcissism and lack of judgement.
@asianmomriot@Justsn00zing@BladeoftheS You’re right, but I don’t blame the greens. Look at the briefings against them from the Govt in the run up to the locals, and compare with the silence towards Reform. There is no appetite for cooperative politics in the UK. And that is how the UK will end up with Farage.
@Justsn00zing@BladeoftheS Speaking from experience in Europe, without PR Farage is going to be PM. That 30-something % racist vote is baked in now. Burnham won’t change that. The only hope is intelligent electoral pacts (see how France just about deal with RN) and then a change to PR.
@jakonian And you’re happy for a majority Govt on 30% popular vote? Doesn’t really scream ”democracy”, does it? Speaking from Europe, it will take a coalition to keep Farage out. In the absence of PR, take a look at how the French have dealt with RN…
@PeterStefanovi2 Peter, you know that Labour under Burnham will gamble on FPTP and the potential for majorities with 30-something % of the popular vote. In the absence of PR cooperation and coalition Govt is the only solution to Farage. Labour have to be dragged into that reality at some point…
@WelBeast Really? My first game at Highbury was in 1973. 53 seasons that, overwhelmingly, ranged between disappointing and disastrous, with the very occasional St Michaels Day or similar thrown in to alleviate the pain. These are halcyon times. Enjoy them. Believe.
@TharriesYT That 30% or so racist vote is baked in now, no putting that genie back, so in the absence of PR only tactical voting and electoral pacts/cooperation are going to prevent a total catastrophe at the next election. That will need a BIG shift in mindset….
@SocialistHB Rosena Allin-Kahn is the perfect fit for this role, but quite rightly she wouldn’t accept the outsourcing of NHS provision so beloved by Streeting et al, or the lack of recognition for the importance of mental health services.
@justdavenow89 I live in Finland. Every child here is entitled to a free school lunch until they finish upper secondary at 18. And, as it should be, absolutely no one has any kind of problem with that.
@mattkandela Really? The man who brought us two doubles, Anelka, Petit, Vieira, Pires, Ljungberg, Fabregas, van Persie, and who saved Bergkamps career… Sure, ”ultimately uncompetitive”….
@sophielouisecc By and large, Sophie, if you’re actively attending a march led by Yaxley-Lennon, then yes, the media will call you far-right. Because you are far-right. Personally, I’d just call you a racist.
@EssexPR@kegsymartin It really wasn’t. Met said 110,000. I’d say 140/150, 009. And actually, Adam, more people were In London to watch football than to take part in your silly march 😂 😂 😂 😂
@JohnWest_JAWS I dunno…. NATO is finished, Article 5 is worthless from a US perspective. Putin knows this. I’d tell Trump to fuck off and prioritise sorting out an emergency “umbrella” with Macron in the first instance. But you’re right, he is stroking out… maybe there’s hope yet 🙏
