@TJEckertKTUL Thompson played in the first 3 games, which they suffered 2 really bad losses. Players don’t develop under Boynton. He recruits really good players, but they never improve. If his buyout wasn’t so expensive, I think he would be gone this year.

@L33Jake I don’t think NIL is to blame for this one. I think lack of wins and lack of development from the coaching staff is to blame here. Boynton is a big time recruiter, but he doesn’t know what to do with that talent when they arrive. Players don’t get better under him.

@OBBrigade How can Boynton recruit elite talent but can’t keep that talent? Why don’t players get better and develop under him? He has been able to bring in great players and classes despite the sanctions. Other coaches are winning a lot more games with a lot less talent.

He has had the talent to win, he lacks in the scheme and in game adjustments. The big 12 is not a place to learn on the fly.

@Schemmdogg @TylersTakes Formula 2? Eddie’s last season we went 17-16 and went to the NIT. Sean’s 2 seasons were 22-13 and 17-16. Both NIT. Ford took us to the tourney in his first 2 seasons. When Ford left, Underwood took us to the tourney the next year. People make way too many excuses for Boynton.

@PistolPetesBro @matt_nowlin @LifetimePoke45 Gundy should have made staff changes, but not making those shouldn’t mean he gets fired. When Sanders got hurt at TCU we were dominating that game. We were ranked #8 and avg 45 ppg. The offense turned to trash once Sanders went down. But Boynton’s teams classically underperform.

I remember how good we were under Eddie and remember when making the tournament every year was the expectation. Travis Ford made it 5/8 years and we got rid of him.

@Fergensteiin @cadewebb But when it comes down to it, people want to fire Gundy for not replacing coordinators. Boynton has had a terrible offense since he started and he hasn’t made changes. He’s had higher rated recruits than Eddie had most season and yet he continues to fail to develop them.

@DavisM_Harmon Preseason favorites to do what? How about we make the tournament and finish higher than 5th. Boynton has always had talent and highly rated recruits. His problems are a lack of offensive scheme, in game adjustments, lack of player development and way too many turnovers.

@jacobunruh Instead of just trying hard, can we possibly add some coaching, a few made baskets in the paint, some actual offensive sets and some plays that don’t include shooting 32 three pointers?
