Making the NCAA Tournament should be a badge of honor.
That's going to change when March Madness features 76 teams.

Somewhere in New York City, a kid sat by a big old radio, pencil in hand, listening to John Sterling, writing down every score, picturing every pitch, every swing, every roar of the crowd.
And when his voice rose, “It is high! It is far! It is gone!”, that kid jumped like they were right there in the Bronx.
He gave that kid a seat their parents could never afford.
That was the story of thousands of kids across New York City.
That voice, that feeling, that connection to the game, it will never be replaced. Rest in peace, John.
BREAKING: Louisville has landed one of the best big man available in Obinna Ekezie Jr., and he intends to reclassify and play for the Cardinals this season. The 7-1 Ekezie was the No. 2 ranked player in the country in the Class of 2027, per On3. He’s a skilled big man who can step out and can play alongside Kansas transfer Flory Bidunga at times. Pat Kelsey has now assembled a team that should be ranked among the top teams in the country heading into the season. He added Bidunga and Okezie with Iowa transfer Alvaro Folgueiras (Iowa) and Karter Knox (Arkansas). Adrian Wooley will return and the Cardinals also add guards Jackson Shelstad (Oregon) and De’Shayne Montgomery (Dayton).
San Jose State transfer Ben Roseborough has committed to Towson, his agent Darius Graham @vantasportsmgmt tells @247Sports.
Averaged 12.0 PPG, shooting 41.1% from three this season.
🚨 RETURNING 🚨
We are happy to announce that OMS NIL Client, Jon Barton is retuning to Towson next season!
The 6’2” Combo from Waldorf, MD. redshirted this year for the Tigers after a standout high school career at St. John’s in DC!
Expect big things from him this season!
@JonRothstein@jaquanwomack13@SteveEig@Towson_MBB Will change* after 15 years there's gotta be some self reflection that you just aren't a good offensive coach. That's okay and can work as long as someone takes over that side of the ball that's capable.
@JonRothstein Paired with @jaquanwomack13 could be a deadly duo. But nothing with change at Towson without a complete overhaul on how they run offense. Skerry has to completely give up offensive control to an AC for them to ever make a run. @SteveEig@Towson_MBB
How do D1 non-majors survive when they are just a poaching ground for higher level D1s?
For example, Ryan Pedon at Illinois State did everything absolutely right - recruited good players, developed them. Got the Redbirds to the NIT Final 4. And now that nucleus is in the portal...so "higher" D1s, who have zero relationship with those kids, can come buy their remaining eligibility time.
To me, that is a college basketball world that is not sustainable. It's great if you're Michigan, UConn, Duke, Kentucky, and all the schools with all the NIL $$. But what about everyone else?
Favorites went 16-0 yesterday.
This year's first round had 13 of 32 games decided by 20+ points.
High Point only true mid-major still alive, and its NIL is probably most of any team in 1-bid league.
I hate to admit it, but due to NIL & transfer portal, Cinderellas may be dead.
Each of the four mid-majors that have advanced to the second round had NIL budgets near or north of $3M this year.
Still have to spend money to make money.
NIT should become the mid major national championship. 32 teams to include all conferences outside BIG10/BIGE/BIG12/ACC/SEC.
Start tournament after 1st round of NCAA. Mid majors who lose 1st round join the bracket. Play the championship game at the site of the Final 4. DO IT!
Power conference teams: mid-major teams need to play more power teams in non-conference play if they want their resumes to be taken seriously for the NCAA tournament
Mid-majors: hey we want to have a stronger schedule, can we play you
Power teams: lmao absolutely not, we’re not gonna take any chances of possibly losing to you
Power teams: see, mid-majors don’t play anyone and also it’s their own fault for not scheduling us
Feel awful for @Towson_MBB . Played their best ball the final month of the season. Another defensive gem. Just came up a little short. Love supporting their program.
Tyler Tejada is incredible. Dylan Williamson is amazing. Tough Towson run but it's time for Pat Skerry. 5 straight semi final loses. @SteveEig knows that you can't keep doing the same thing and expect success. Pat Skerry will go down as amazing man and a great coach. @Towson_MBB
