@braden_burcham_ Hilarious part of the dialogue is obviously college baseball until the last 18 months hasn’t been culturally relevant in the area because KU is 45 mins away from a MLB team. Shocking that people prefer to watch big leaguers over college kids.
@SportsRadio810@SorenPetro@KSeaboldt@Leabonics@KyleCollier_810 Team’s performance certainly mirrors the personality of the manager. There is nothing authentic of how he manages. He/the front office executes a basic framework of modern strategy while playing with the most pathetic energy of a team you will ever see.
@M_Vernon Probably just real tired of the constant complaints of Self apologists. Baseball and softball staffs and rosters are doing an incredible job and will always be under resourced. Basketball is performing below their resources.
@klseaboldt Issue for Q is his personality. He is a front office algorithm as a manager that without a complete team will look like a jackass often. Issue when you are a small market baseball team you are need more personality out of that spot to win imo. Guy comes off a willing beta loser.
@PatrickMcEnroe American college football players paying for the development of foreign tennis players makes no sense. Should be a foreign cap on all non revenue sports by the NCAA.
@Sam_Vecenie As a fan I have no real issue with any of the current system and clearly based on football/basketball ratings people don’t actually care. Only thing that is annoying is when coaches/players whine about criticism given the magnitude of their compensation.
@M_Vernon Anyway to get them to stop spending the war chest on 18 year olds that clearly is no path to winning in the modern environment. If they would leave the Stokes sweepstakes tonight would be a great development for the program.
@GhostofDok @RockChalkBlog 25th best basketball team at 95% percentile of resources compared to the 50th best football team in the 30% percentile of P4 roster resources in an admittedly down year. Basketball is their own problem.
@M_Vernon@PhoggyThoughts Were you not the guy 10 days again passing blame on financial investment being the cause. Would think a 11M coach and 10M roster could do a little bit more.
@CycloneLarry69 This is big boy college sports you wouldn’t know. They have been at a 8 or 9 seed level without the AFH boost for 3-4 years and their roster construction philosophy is terrible. There are 20 coaches that could create more output than him right now at KU. Zero doubt
@Eddie_Rado They are one of the least supported P4 programs in the sport. Not sure why there is any expectation. They have historically hired good coaches that overcome the fact that no one seems to care.
@evanphillips45@M_Vernon Self makes over $10M a year. The players and staff come from the same budget. No coach should be paid over $5M to coach basketball in the current structure.
@M_Vernon Culture is pretty rotten these days. Even Council is a nice story but he is a middle of the road P4 level PG. This program isn’t anywhere close to the top of the sport. Can’t power rate in the top 20 and play half their games at AFH.
@SorenPetro Recruiting and roster building has mostly been lazy and poor since the title but one big thing that has hurt the program in a big way is Dick and Furphy both leaving after a year. Both would have been large contributors in any subsequent seasons they played .
