As this semester comes to a wrap, I’m especially proud of all the political coverage I got to report on for @statepress, @cronkitenews and other endeavors. Absolutely no better way to have began my last year as a student reporter than by getting to cover such a HUGE race
Flags are being flown at half-mast and a small memorial has accumulated at Turning Point USA’s headquarters here in Phoenix, AZ, for late founder Charlie Kirk. Kirk was assassinated earlier today at an event held at a college in Utah.
Forty-eight hours after his story gained attention, Angel Santiago is still clinging to hope that he will be reunited with his emotional support dog, Bam Bam. https://t.co/CQxW6AXnVz
This story is too sad not to share: A blind man’s 14-year-old service dog, Bam Bam, was stolen from his yard in Chicago.
@fox32news keeping my fingers crossed for an update on Bam Bam’s return to his owner.

As my internship at @azfamily comes to an end, I am so happy that one of my last stories here is this digital article on Jim Cox, and the amazing foundation established in his memory that financially helps journalism students 🤍

@Deggans Looks like they closed the fellowship submissions early, because the job listing is no longer available. Super bummed because I have a lot of experience reporting on indigenous communities while in college and would have loved to apply for this
Check it out - my photo of U.S. Deaf Women’s National Team & Desert Dreams player, Holly Hunter, got featured in a AZCentral article yesterday! ⚽️🥅

Anti-ICE protest in downtown Phoenix on Sunday, June 8, 2025. The protest was organized by the Phoenix Party of Socialism and Liberty, which gave out signs reading 'Release Joel Gutierrez Now!' for an Arizona man that was recently detained by ICE.
Photos taken by me.
@ZeeThaChosen I know there was a protest this morning at the capitol building. I'm not affiliated with any of the groups that have been organizing these protests, but I'd suggest keeping an eye on social media like instagram or tiktok! I usually see people posting about the protests on there!
@wadrew Andy, you do realize a journalist's job is to report on events that are happening, right? I never stated I was for or against the protests. Thanks for the interaction, though!
