A kind colleague asked if I had any citations on how salary transparency and posting compensation ranges with job openings supports equity, esp. for women and BIPOC candidates, so they could share them with HR and internal policy makers. I do! Here are some of them:
@moontwerk 2006: 10 apps, 1 accept, 2 WT, called 1 WL which turned into partial funding. Was given advice to apply in 3 tiers: wishlists, maybes, and (possible) shoe-ins. Best of luck! Look for programs that have academic job AND career diversity training/workshops/mentoring opportunities.
