Well, well, well. Would you look at that! Is that a Communist at the city council press conference from yesterday? You know the press conference I’m talking about. The one where they tried to say the National Guard was going to be “terrorizing” our city. The press conference where they said if you support President Trump you are a “threat to democracy”?!

In addition to the out-of-touch city council members’ press conference this week denouncing the state and federal government’s Memphis Safe Task Force to apprehend routine and violent criminals, they apparently hosted radical communist and fascist sympathizers right behind them at the podium. While denouncing “President Trump’s authoritarianism”, they proudly stood arm-and-arm with an “activist” who wore a patch of the Soviet Union flag! Oh, the irony! They have absolutely no self-awareness. They’re not even hiding it anymore.

When they tell you who they are: Believe them. City council members seeking radical leftists’ votes apparently would rather join voices with Soviet sympathizers than support law-abiding Memphians who want to solve our crime challenge.

While they gin up fear for political points, I’m going to do everything I can to Make Memphis Matter. If the city council fought crime as hard as they fight President Trump’s efforts to Make Memphis Safe Again, we wouldn’t need the National Guard to begin with.
