Revealing differences in a group makes the group more able to respond to its needs, but it also leaves it at greater risk of fragmentation.
If you're inviting people to share their differences, you need a plan for supporting the group in integrating those differences.
Also given your arbitrary maximum dimensions (smaller than other airlines), why do you put your employees in the difficult position of enforcing a policy that doesn't make sense?
@AirCanada you forced me to gate check a carry-on bag that fits just fine in overhead bins (as even your employee agreed) . Waiting for the bag made me arrive home way past midnight. Why do you give us unnecessary reasons to avoid you?

@JoshuaLenon@AirCanada I had a similar experience recently. AC deemed the carry-on I've traveled with for years (and which absolutely fits in a 787 overhead bin) as too big. There was no cash grab, they just wanted to gate check the bag. I don't understand who this benefits?
