Someone used the line “we all have the same 24 hours” today on me when we were talking about exercising and meal prep. I asked him how he managed to get in his 2 hours at the gym after work with his disabled child who needs 24/7 supervision. He said “oh”.
Supervised consumption sites don’t “enable” drug use, they provide health care for people who are already using drugs. You shouldn’t have to be drug free to access health care! My last overdose was at booth 5 and I’m now over a decade sober. That wouldn’t be possible without harm reduction.
Disgusted to hear the Ontario government will be ending physician & hospital services for uninsured people.
Marginalized uninsured people are human beings who deserve healthcare too.
Trying to save money by denying healthcare to society’s most vulnerable...is just wrong.
So let me get this straight. Due to funding cuts, an Ontario hospital is laying off nurses during a dire nursing shortage…all while the Ontario government is underspending on healthcare by $21.3 billion? 🙄
