pokemon games with the craziest details.
back in 1999, gamefreak released pokemon gold and silver which introduced to players johto region. music and buildings structure gave the perfect vibes for the best pokemon game back
then.
but there was a massive secret hidden in the design that most players never even noticed. instead of just drawing random shapes for the towns and routes, the developers designed goldenrod city with huge underground mall and a massive radio tower that mirrored the real big city. we also have a quiet seaside area of new bark town, along with the traditional wooden streets of ecruteak, giving the game a very specific feeling.
thelevel of detail went even further, as the buildings and architecture even matched specific Pokémon encounters in real life, by making sure that specific pokemon like stantler only showed up in areas where real deer would live. the miltank farm where placed on specific mountain routes. even placing the buildings for monks, civic monuments, and other actual things from the real world.
the most incredible part is the secret geography of the entire map. it turns out that johto was actually inspired by the kansai region of western Japan, where every single thing has a real location. this includes goldenrod being osaka, and ecruteak acting like Kyoto, while the legendary ho-oh was actually inspired by a golden phoenix at a real temple that famously burned down centuries ago.
gamefreak used more than 30 real locations to create a digital version of their own country.
Miss. Mrs. Ms.
They label her based on a man's presence in her life.
Meanwhile, he's just "Mr." from birth to death.
That's not grammar. That's patriarchy
Stephen Miller said the quiet part out loud. Trump has “plenary authority,” then suddenly went silent. The plan wasn’t to be made public. Clearly someone hit the panic button in his earpiece.
It gets weirder: CNN uploaded the interview with the “plenary authority” comment edited out.

I may be an Atheist now but I wasn't always one, while some sections and passages can be interpreted in different ways, it's funny how the most vocal Christians somehow missed the core message in the Bible.
just a friendly PSA your likes aren't really "private" now. if you add a /likes after someone's profile URL you can still see them because they weren't actually made secure, the button was just removed lmfao
This has been the week from hell. Literally, every aspect of my life is active and changing. When I get a chance (and a space) to look at content, I'll update all of you.
I'll fucking bite. A thread about making female characters in games.
This idiot/grifter/probably-feigning-outrage-doughboy really doesn't seem to get it, even apparently *as* a developer.
TLDR: making the nuances of a gentler face can be a real tough one in game art.
