I don't want to say that voting doesn't matter, it does, but the established powers are exceptionally good at steering the public opinion to pick a person who is one of them or would be easy for them to manipulate and accomplish their agenda.
Think Trump, on paper he is a swamp-drainer, a change-bringer. In reality he is very suggestible, throw him a compliment and make him think that your idea is his idea. Or Biden, who was pretty much a vegetable for his entire term, all of the decisions were done by people pulling the strings.

@LumpyMcMullet @joekent16jan19 I think having a central figure is beneficial, especially in the earlier stages of the movement. But said person has to know when to step down, to avoid amassing power and becoming a dictator or a thing that they fought against in the first place.

This is the mindset needed to steer the country back on track. But the government has perfected the "bread and circus" concept, people are placated and comfortable. It's like trying to start a fire with soggy wood.

Solution and action-oriented voices of reason are muted, while perpetually onli e mentally-ill freaks/paid shills/foreign agents get amplified.
