@HawksFCOfficial Asking for a friend... is it not a poor name for our ground ..I've always thought Eyrie Park as in the nest of a Hawk would be a better fit...
When I reflect on the last year, a personal highlight for me was going to Windsor Castle in July to receive my MBE from the King, for Services to Holocaust Education.
I know I’ve done far more to earn it for fighting anti-Jewish hate in general, than specifically for Holocaust education, and even though learning about this darkest chapter of history has been my motivation for speaking out, I thought ‘Holocaust Education’ was maybe a more palatable or sanitised way of describing the fight, and not exactly one and the same.
But how I view it all now has completely changed since October 7th. Holocaust education feels present and urgent at a time where people in the West have openly been celebrating, as well as denying, the biggest loss of Jewish life since the Holocaust, complete with rape, torture, kidnappings, and medieval, sadistic brutality against men, women, children, Holocaust survivors, foreign workers, Israeli Arabs, and anyone else who was unlucky enough to have been in the vicinity of Hamas during their attacks. As a result, incidents of anti-Jewish hate are surging around the world and of course this New Year’s Eve feels somber.
Fighting antisemitism has never been easy, but unless we are prepared to roll over and accept these crimes, repeated in Israel and around the world as Hamas and their supporters have vowed to do, then fight it we must.
I hope, as every decent person does, for the remaining 139 hostages in Gaza to return home to their families, and for an end to the violence in Gaza and the region as soon as possible that allows for stable and safe home for everyone there to be able to live in peace. This should be obvious, but to some it clearly isn’t and so must be said.
I’m grateful to be in the relative safety of Britain as we close this year, here’s to a miracle for 2024, and thank you to the silent majority who wants all of this too. ♥️

1. 🚨 We’ve been at emergency level for weeks. Humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, a child killed every 10 minutes, civilians tragically blown up in their cars trying to get away, thousands traumatised having lost loved ones in unimaginable circumstances, Jews and Muslims attacked, threatened & murdered all around the globe. Now a refugee camp blown up killing a another load of civilians.
What I’ll say now I believe echoes the voice of millions in the know. I’ll try to say it as clearly as I can. It needs to be said, I’m not the first saying it, and it is NOT Islamophobic to say it:
Once you ‘consign Hamas to the dustbin of history’, innocent Israelis & Palestinians will continue to be targets because there is a bigger entity at play here: The Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI).
The IRI are orchestrating deep anti Semitism for reasons which have nothing to do with a “Free Palestine” or any kind of peaceful two state solution. Many Jews and Muslims agree: Hamas is the snake. But the IRI is the snake charmer. The one who controls the snake.
An explanation. ⬇️

Should Keegan just resign now?

…Also great to hear about how 'hard to reach' in academic circles can often basically mean 'easy to ignore', and that actually with dedication and often arts-based approaches, that doesn't have to be the case. Love to see this at conferences. #ECP2023
Fascinating to hear @Audio_Active on Orly Klein's involvement in Room 2 Rant: "She showed investment, care and vulnerability in the project… recognise the potential for that when evaluating with high vulnerable and mistrustful people".

@mrbrownpod@MrTs_NQTs It seems to be part of the job but also why I imagine many leave teaching..I assume we all want to teach our subjects but pupils at times may not agree
I'm at BBC HQ in London where there is a statue of George Orwell and his words
