😔 This is what a political witch hunt really looks like.

Balázs Hankó, a father, a husband, a former culture minister, waiting to be taken away, holding his wife close while his children stand around them in tears, treated as a criminal before any court has ruled on anything. He is facing the investigation head-on.

The so‑called National Cultural Fund (NKA) case held against him is about grants that supported real cultural programmes, now being recast as “campaign money” to criminalise the right. There is no court verdict, no proven personal enrichment, only a political narrative written in the Prime Minister’s office.

Yet Péter Magyar brands him a “criminal” and a “mafioso” from the floor of Parliament. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister is openly pressuring and instructing the police and prosecutors to go after his political opponents.

This is not justice, it is a show trial. It is not only individuals being targeted, but families being torn apart. Another low point for Hungarian democracy under the Tisza government.

Case dates back to 2024, when Magyar grabbed a phone from a man who was filming him and threw it into the Danube River.

A tények:
🔻a KSH szerint 9,1%-kal csökkent a hazai beruházások volumene
🔻az építőipari termelés 12,2%-kal csökkent, ezen belül az új építőipari szerződéseké 24 százalékkal
🔻10 éves rekordon van a munkanélküliség, több mint 20.000 fővel nőtt a munkanélküliek száma
🔻eltörölték a védett üzemanyagárat, így benzinből 40-50 forinttal, dízelből 80-90 forinttal drágábban tankolunk
🔻mivel a mezőgazdasági munkagépek, a kamionok dízelüzeműek, a drágulás megjelenik majd az élemiszerárakban
🔻az újépítésű házak áfáját 5 százalékról 27 százalékra emelik
🔻eltörölték a kisvállalkozók kedvezményes 3 százalékos hitelét
🔻kivezetik az árrés stopokat a boltokból, drágulnak az alapélelmiszerek
🔻dolgoznak a rezsicsökkentés "átalakításán" vagyis megszüntetésén.
🔻Magyar Péter Szolnokon már kénytelen volt bejelenteni a KATA adójának nagymértékű emelését.

Az NKA-ügye csak elterelés mert cirkusz kell a népnek. Kénytelen újra és újra beetetni a híveit, hogy ne a lényegre koncentráljanak de elkerülhetetlen lesz a bukás, mert megérzik a péztárcájukon.
Akkor pedig már kevés lesz a tánc, a Vespa, a palacsintasütés mert abból senki sem tudja kifizetni a számláit vagy eltartani a gyermekeit.

Tik-tak. Az idő megy és egyre gyorsul!

- Acaban de arrestar al antiguo Ministro de Cultura y Familia, Balázs Hankó. Magyar Péter lo señaló en el Parlamento y esta noche dormirá en prisión. Dicho, y hecho.

- ¿Por corrupción? No: por financiar a artistas patriotas y de provincias, y no dar todo el dinero público a al club de la "ceja" húngara, la élite de Budapest que no tolera que la cultura no les pertenezca totalmente.

Fuel prices are soaring. Families and businesses are struggling. The new government scrapped the protected fuel price system and is doing nothing meaningful to bring prices down.

But they have plenty of time and energy for a political purge.

A former minister is now being detained on corruption charges over funding decisions - not allegations that he personally stole the money, but that public funding was awarded to organisations now targeted by the new government. The Prime Minister had publicly demanded action against him before the authorities moved.

They promised tax cuts. Instead, taxes are going up. They promised democracy and the rule of law. Instead, power is being concentrated and state institutions are being used against political opponents.

This is what I see as the real face of liberal authoritarianism.

A dark day for Hungarian democracy. In another chapter in the political witch hunt against right-wing politicians, the Tisza majority in the Hungarian Parliament stripped MPs and former ministers Balázs Hankó and Miklós Seszták of their immunity.

Balázs Hankó is the target of a politically fabricated case. We never thought we would see such times return to Hungary. Shameful. 

The Hungarian PM is pressuring police and prosecutors while building a new political police force to pursue his political opponents. He is trying to silence the opposition and dismantle the rule of law. We condemn it in the strongest terms.
