This morning, the Ukrainian coat of arms was installed on the Motherland monument’s shield in Kyiv, replacing the Soviet hammer and sickle that had been there for decades.

This is Simo Häyhä. Otherwise known as “The White Death”.

He fought against the ruSSians for Finland in the Winter War of 1939-40.

In less than 100 days, Simo is credited with decommunising 542 Red Army personnel. Making him the deadliest sniper in history.

This is truly mind blowing when you consider the equipment he used and the conditions he fought in.

Simo did not like Telescopic sights and instead preferred to carry out his work using the Iron Sight on his M/28-30 (a Finnish produced Mosin variant). This weapon accounted for 259 of his credited decommunisations.

The rest were delivered using a Suomi sub machine gun.

For a total of 542 in less than 100 days.

The Winter War lasted from 30th November 1939 to the 13th March 1940.

This means that Simo fought in some of the toughest conditions imaginable. The temperatures reached as low as -40 degrees celsius. At that time of year in Finland the days are very short(6-10 hours), which makes his high total even more surprising.

On March 6th 1940 Simo was hit in the jaw with an explosive round. Initially he was placed with the dead, only located again when an officer ordered a soldier to search for him. The soldier found Simo unconscious but still alive. The bullet had destroyed his upper jaw, his left cheek and lower jaw. It would take many surgeries to reconstruct his face.

In spite of these injuries, Simo volunteered to fight in the Continuation War, fought from 1941-1944. He was excused from service due to the injuries to his face.

The Winter War ended 7 days after Simo’s injury. Although ruSSia gained some territory as a result, the campaign was a huge failure and embarrassment for ruSSia. They had lost over 150’000 soldiers in less than 100 days without achieving their ultimate aims.

The failure likely contributed to the total number of officers killed in Stalins Red Army purge of 1941. But that’s a topic for another tweet.

Simo Häyhä was a hero who did extraordinary things in extraordinary circumstances.

When asked how he became so proficient at his craft he replied simply “practise”.

He died in April 2001. He was 96.

Whenever I see his picture I am reminded that my ruSSophobia will never be sufficient.

👉 However: If she is Putin's mother, then Putin is not even Russian 🇷🇺.

📌 The Kremlin insists that Putin was born in 1952 in St Petersburg. Both of his parents, who had had two sons who had died > a decade before, were allegedly 41 when he was born.

📌 📌 Ms. Vera Putin of Georgia 🇬🇪 though, told an eerily different story:

📌 Vladimir Putin was born in 1950, when she was 24, having become pregnant following an affair with a local, married auto mechanic.

📍 Vlad was born in the Georgian town of Metekhi 🇬🇪 - a 10 minute drive from Joseph STALIN’S hometown.

📌 Georgian records show that a youth, named Vladimir Putin, attended a school in her 🇬🇪 village for a couple of years before dropping off the records.

📍 This coincides with Ms. Vera Putin's allegation that at that point she had sent her young son to live in St Petersburg with her parents because her new lover did not want a child with them.

📌 Putin was then given to another family in St. Petersburg, whom he came to know as his mom & dad, after his elderly grandparents found it hard to take care of him.

📌 Russian journalist Artem Borovik's plane crash, killing him, while researching Vera Putin. Italian journalist Antonio Russo was murdered after beginning to write about Vera Putin's claims.

The West has never escalated in anything during the entire course of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Neither has Ukraine. Russia continues to escalate. If we don't sufficiently arm Ukraine, millions of people will die and Ukraine will be wiped off the face of this earth. And Russia will not stop at Ukraine. Then, it will indeed turn into World War 3. Smelling our lack of resolve, countries like China could very well join in on Russia's side. To prevent that from happening, we need to fully arm Ukraine to fight this war on our behalf, so long as NATO is unwilling to get involved by annihilating all Russian troops on the Ukrainian territory, which is still the simplest no-brainer solution.
