Wow. This is a shocker
The @nzherald current poll of polls says
“The Greens are on 12.1%, NZ First is on 11.8%, Opportunity is on 8.5%, Act is on 8.3% and Te Pāti Māori is on 2%.”
So they have Opportunity 0.2% ahead of ACT. Now let’s look at the actual poll results from the last few polls:
•Verian – ACT 11%, TOP 6%: ACT +5%
•Freshwater – ACT 9%, TOP 6%: ACT +3%
•Anacta – ACT 8%, TOP 7%: ACT +1%
•Curia – ACT 10.5%, TOP 4.5%: ACT +6%
•Roy Morgan – ACT 10.5%, TOP 9.5%: ACT +1%
•Reid Research – ACT 7.7%, TOP 5.3%: ACT +2.4%
So the last six polls, all from different firms, have had ACT ahead of Opportunity by margins ranging from 1% to 6%, and the Herald-MOTU poll of polls says that the poll of polls means Opportunity is ahead of ACT.”
Hey @nzherald
Are you screwing the scrum?
The irony was lost on the Kingmakers debate hosts when Waititi promised pension for Maori would drop to 60 because they die 7 years younger than others
Standing on the same podium was an 81 year old Maori pitching for votes to keep him until 85
Chris Hipkins let’s be clear again on your statements today : these are the rules under MMP. Te Pāti Māori has encouraged voters to split their votes backing its electorate candidates while giving their party vote to your party. Centre-right voters are equally entitled to split their votes within those same rules.
You can debate the system but you cannot reasonably apply one standard to the left and another to the right.
And as I have said before far less than 1% of ZURU’s revenue comes from New Zealand. My motivation is wanting this country to succeed and win. What your government did in the last term was unforgivable.
New Zealand needs talented people in Parliament with common sense practical ideas and the ability to deliver a more prosperous future. I welcome a contest of ideas. What frustrates me is how often Labour offers policies that look designed to win votes rather than build lasting prosperity- this is what I would call gaming the system. Put that alongside proposals from its potential coalition partners that I believe would take us backwards very quickly.
When Willie Jackson is your fourth-ranked MP Chris I think you have serious work to do to attract stronger candidates and lift the quality of your team and the quality of your ideas.
Give New Zealanders a compelling vision, credible policies and people who can execute them. That is how we get a real contest of good ideas. I would welcome it.
So many lies
There are 500 local owners of these supermarkets in NZ
Prices are high because NZ is remote, and geographically sparse over a long narrow country
No evidence of excess profit, if it was $1m a day, that's 3 onions a week for each household
Vote no to communism!
The Labour Party now want the voting age to be lowered to include 16 year olds.
So Labour and their mates want the youth court age to be increased to include 25 year olds - because they say teenagers don’t have the brain capacity to be held accountable - but they think 16 year olds can make proper decisions to vote.
Not to mention the current age restrictions on alcohol, gambling, driving, gun ownership, joining the military, marriage…the list goes on. Do they want to lower all of those now too?
This is just electoral gerrymandering by age.
The left’s moronic ideologically bent thinking is on full display this election and kiwis need to pay serious attention to where this country will end up if they get into power.

The Taxpayers’ Union Board has issued a categorical denial of allegations made by Nicky Hager concerning an alleged sexual harassment settlement.
Taxpayers’ Union Chair Ruth Richardson said:
“The Taxpayers’ Union Board categorically denies Nicky Hager’s allegation that the organisation has ever made any payment to settle a sexual harassment claim against Jordan Williams. There have been no claims, let alone settlements.
“I have spoken directly with previous Chairs and with the organisation’s co-founder, who served on the Board until 2023. All are unequivocal: the allegation is totally untrue.
“The Taxpayers’ Union will not be distracted by false claims. We will continue doing what we have always done: standing up for taxpayers, scrutinising government spending, and fighting for lower taxes, less waste, and more accountability.”
Emma Ricketts from Stuff has decided to pathetically attempt to smear our policy announcement.
She knows, because we told her when she asked, that we have been working with the National Health Alliance for a very long time.
The NHA contacted all parties with their policy - we were the ones that agreed with them, picked it up, and we are campaigning on it - it’s called working with experts for policy development.
In addition, on Sunday the NHA openly sponsored a NZFirst advertisement outlining the policies and are open to the fact they have been promoting these policies - including on their website.
The media want to try and smear with a false misleading fake news stories instead of report on the policies.
This is the state of the biased mainstream media.
Here’s how absurd public service accountability has become.
The FENZ chief executive withheld serious information from Brooke van Velden for a year. She has lost confidence in him, but the decision about his job sits with the board.
MBIE deliberately misled a select committee over a failed $30 million project. Its chief executive offered to resign. The Public Service Commissioner turned him down.
Ministers are the ones who face Parliament and the public when things go wrong. ACT says they should also be able to appoint departmental chief executives and remove them for poor performance.
You can’t hold someone responsible while denying them the power to act.
Here is a great example of the overt NZ Media bias against the existing govt. Same topic - 2 pictures selected. Luxon looking dark n ominous, Hipkins friendly and smiling @nzherald@NZNationalParty@theplatform_nz
REVEALED: Victoria University has been caught using compulsory student fees to fund the university branch of the Labour Party.
Labour at Vic received a $1,700 grant from the Student Services Levy - money students are required to pay.
In its application, Labour at Vic described itself as the local youth branch of the New Zealand Labour Party and highlighted the importance of 2026 because of the General Election.
Save Our Clubs uncovered the funding through OIA requests.
TEC says the grant did not breach the current rules. If that’s right, then the rules are the problem.
Students should never be forced to subsidise political organisations they may strongly disagree with.
Young ACT has never asked Victoria University for direct funding, and would never do so.
Chris Hipkins should step in and tell Labour at Vic to return the money.
ACT will make Student Services Fees voluntary so students, not universities, decide what they fund.
I would think allowing men to compete against women in their sports is much more of a slap in the face , but then again we live in such fucked times who knows
@winstonpeters Yeah nah, don’t agree. A high minimum wage (+ inability to fire people) deters small business owners from giving young people a go. It’s stifling growth, and experience development… and pathways to better jobs
Men who claim to be women in Australia cannot claim to be oppressed, marginalized or discriminated against. In fact, they hold all the power.
The group that is being discriminated against is women who want woman only spaces, services, sport & lesbianism. We are being discriminated against on the basis of sex.
The judiciary of Australia hasn’t resolved the conflict in law, they have made it blindingly obvious.
50% of the population have been left without legal protections on the basis of sex - the exact thing the sex discrimination act was enacted to uphold.
“The High Court has refused Giggle app founder Sall Grover special leave to appeal the case brought against her by transwoman Roxanne Tickle, meaning that without new legislation, Australian law is now set in stone: men can become women, and sex is not purely biological.”
