Unfortunately, the problem with symbolism is it's cheap and rarely deeper than a bumper sticker, and when it conflicts with your real, often unstated beliefs, it can be ripped away just as easily as the $0.10 piece of vinyl your supposed convictions are printed on.

We're in an era of symbolism as politics, a time where you can predicts one's ideology by their consumption habits and brand loyalty. Of course the Blue Lives Matter contingent with their flags and stickers were only engaged in signaling. Why else would you fly a flag, FFS?
