Thank you @centre_bristol for inviting me to join you today. You are truly a place of ‘Shelter, sanctuary and support for homeless and vulnerable people"
What do you do at Christmas? Last Christmas 462 #volunteers gave up their time for people experiencing #homelessness in Bristol so they weren’t left out in the cold. You can do something amazing too > https://t.co/XlaC8i7oNa Thanks 2 our vol❤️nteers & Dom at @BianchisGroup
💥LHA has been uplifted💥
We are pleased the Chancellor has finally listened to the homelessness sector and uplifted the LHA rate.
It will give people on low income more breathing space, allowing them to access more affordable housing options while helping prevent homelessness.

I'm pleased that the evacuation of residents is underway - we will continue to look after everyone while carrying out a full survey of Barton House
The safety of #Bristol residents is our highest priority
Homelessness is a lifestyle choice? I've been homeless twice in my life. As a young care leaver at 16 years old and again in my 20s when I was suffering with my mental health. I never chose to live on the streets. Hundreds of young people from 18 upwards are fighting for places to live, to be kept safe. Some landlords ( not all) do not favour children from care, and local authorities have no properties. So I'd say the choice comes from central government and our fragmented system.
Just launched for people in Bristol's Hartcliffe and Withywood - this Friday weekly drop in with Early Doors, CHAS Bristol and Shelter at @HWCPsymes Symes Resource Centre Who/what/where/when? See our blog: https://t.co/UEKsEC0fux
We are entering the planning stage! Soon, @markolver’s notebook will be full of scribbles.
I’m sharing this pic (of 5 he sent) because it doesn’t give anything away but gives a flavour of the beast that #BellyLaughs 2023 is!
