Can you provide examples of this Russian Disinformation or is it just all talk?
Russian Disinformation, if true, is ruining the UK populations lives, that will be failed Gov after failed Gov, we have the most expensive energy bills in the world, the most expensive fuel costs in the world - tell me how Russian disinformation is affecting the things we care about?
Narinder’s post treats a long-running NHS staffing problem as if it appeared the day net migration fell. That is sloppy.
The overseas nurse route was not shut. Legal Health and Care visas for registered nurses stayed open. What changed was the surrounding system: from March 2024 new care-worker visas lost the right to bring dependants; from April 2024 salary discounts tightened; from July 2025 new overseas care-worker and senior care-worker applications closed; fees, English requirements and the skills charge then rose; settlement rules became less certain. The NMC’s own data show the collapse: 12,534 internationally educated joiners in April–September 2024, 6,321 in the same months of 2025 — a 50% drop, then 10,961 for the full year to March 2026 versus 20,669 the year before.
That is legal-route friction and a closed care pipeline, not “Britain banned legal immigrant nurses.” NMC mid-year drop · NMC 2025–26 annual
If shortages were simply “because we stopped importing staff,” they would not have existed for a decade before those rules.
Advertised NHS nurse vacancies in England (registered nurses, usually including midwives/health visitors):
2016–17: ~40,000–43,000
2017–18: ~36,000–41,000
2018–19: ~40,000
2019: ~43,000
2020: dipped, then rose again
2021–22: ~40,000–46,000
2022: ~43,600
2023: ~42,300
2024: ~27,000–31,000
2025: ~25,500 falling to ~22,600
2026: ~21,600–23,000
Those gaps were there while legal international recruitment was high. The claim that today’s headline is proof “cut immigration and the jobs sit empty” ignores that the jobs were already empty under the old high-inflow model.
The Mirror’s “55,000 more nurses” is the RCN’s workload model (staffing versus hospital activity since 2009), not 55,000 vacant posts on NHS Jobs. Official funded vacancies in 2026 are about 22,000–23,000. Different numbers, different questions. Using the larger figure as if it were empty advertised jobs is the sleight of hand.
Illegal or irregular arrivals do not fill registered nurse posts. Those jobs need NMC registration, English, verified qualifications and a practical exam. Asylum seekers generally cannot work for the first year anyway. Extra population still uses A&E, maternity and wards. More demand with no extra registered nurses makes the shortage worse, not better.
The actual policy direction is domestic supply: the Long Term Workforce Plan, more UK training places, and a stated aim to cut reliance on international recruitment over time. Whether that training and retention keep up is the real argument. Pretending the 55,000 figure is a gotcha about “waiting for Brits” while skipping ten years of vacancies, the difference between advertised posts and a modelled shortfall, and the fact the nurse visa itself stayed open is not analysis. It is a punchline that does not survive the data.
This video shows why President Trump banned corrupt news outlets from the White House.
The mainstream media is the enemy of the people!
I hope POTUS airs this on Trump TV because the world deserves to see how dishonest our media is towards him!

You can announce specialist courts on a Monday morning video and still look like you only noticed the victims once the politics got too hot. That is the charge, and it is not subtle.
Labour used its majority in January 2025 to vote down a Conservative amendment that would have forced a national statutory inquiry into grooming gangs. Not one Labour MP voted for it. The official excuse was that another inquiry would “delay action.” Then Louise Casey’s audit landed, the public row did not go away, and the same government eventually set up the inquiry it had just blocked
Andy Burnham had already commissioned local reviews in Greater Manchester that could not compel witnesses. He called the Tory vote “opportunism” while later admitting those local reviews were limited.
Manchester that could not compel witnesses. He called the Tory vote “opportunism” while later admitting those local reviews were limited. That sequence is not “putting victims first.” It is reacting after the cost of looking the other way became higher than the cost of looking. - https://t.co/zCkiVqyOvx
The court reform is real. Rape cases have been taking hundreds of days. Dedicated courtrooms, separate entrances, fixed dates are not nothing. They are also downstream. They deal with the wreckage after girls have already been failed by police, councils, prosecutors and, in the worst local scandals, by a culture that treated some victims as less deserving because of who the suspects were. Casey found over-representation of Asian and Pakistani-heritage men in the local data she examined in Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire, and she recorded institutions avoiding the subject for fear of community tension. That is the history Labour spent years treating as a “far-right bandwagon” until it could no longer. -- https://t.co/bwtNpZjZTK
Then there is the booklet. The Home Office is now handing asylum seekers guidance that explains that women do not need a man’s permission to work or travel, that sex without consent is rape, that 16 is the age of consent, and that whistling or kissing noises in the street is not acceptable. Burnham’s defence was that some arrivals come from “different societal norms,” so the state has to make UK law “absolutely plain.”
If your border and asylum system requires a taxpayer-funded primer on not raping people, you have already lost the argument that you are in control of who enters and what standards they must meet. That document is an admission of failure dressed up as pastoral care. - https://t.co/afIAgDRfaX
The boats have not stopped. Arrivals fell in 2026 from the 2025 peak, but tens of thousands still crossed in recent years, the large majority adult men. Returns to France under the one-in-one-out scheme have been a small fraction of arrivals. You cannot run a high-volume irregular-entry system, house people for years while claims are processed, and then act shocked when integration, crime and women’s safety become live political questions. Most sexual offences in Britain are not committed by last year’s small-boat cohort. That is true. It is also true that the state has a duty to decide who comes, to remove people who should not stay, and not to outsource basic sexual ethics to a leaflet after the fact.
Claiming to champion women and girls while first blocking the inquiry, then issuing “don’t rape” guidance to new arrivals, then filming a victim-first court announcement is the same hand doing two jobs. One hand writes the press release. The other spent years treating the hardest part of this — who the perpetrators were in specific towns, why authorities froze, and whether the country still gets to set the terms of entry — as something too awkward to say out loud. Girls in Rotherham, Rochdale, Oldham, Oxford and elsewhere did not need another video. They needed adults who would rather be accused of the wrong politics than leave another generation waiting for justice.
No, it's not because Trump or anyone else tells me so, it's clearly visible to those who are blinkered. Just a couple of examples:
1) CNN retracted a 2017 story linking a Trump transition official to a Russian investment fund under Senate investigation; three journalists resigned after it failed editorial standards. A separate CNN report that year wrongly dated a WikiLeaks-related email to Trump Jr., implying advance access to hacked DNC material when the email actually arrived after public release. - https://t.co/aNt59Hf7Eg
2) Broader first-term narratives around "collusion" with Russia produced extensive coverage that outpaced the eventual Mueller findings on Trump himself. Coverage of the Hunter Biden laptop was initially downplayed or treated as possible disinformation by multiple outlets.
3) Recurring examples critics cite include incomplete quoting of Trump’s Charlottesville remarks and early reporting on the 2024 assassination attempt that minimized or contextualized it in ways later walked back.
The list goes on. I'm not saying they haven't done this with anyone else, but those media organisations particularly push false narratives, then even when the issue a correction or apologise the damage is done.
Yet, the same organisations up until the last debate (Trump vs Biden) called Biden sharp as a tack, fully competent etc, to be fair, that was pushed also by the Biden admin but we now know that was full of shit too... then theirs the Kamala interviews where they edited it to stop her looking a moron.
Ultimately, I think we can all agree that the majority of media are scum bags.
The NYT is unsure how the ban might be enforced... for real?
Their access is revoked, their WhiteHouse press credentials removed. Then they aren't allowed in. They do not have a right to be there. It's a permission based access. Or else anyone could just walk in.
It's pretty simple.
Banning an outlet from White House grounds does not restrict the First Amendment. POLITICO can still publish whatever it wants. Access to the briefing room is a privilege the executive branch has long controlled, not a constitutional right to a seat inside the building.
That distinction matters because POLITICO has run high-profile Trump stories that did not hold up:
* 2020: It reported Trump still owed the Bank of China tens of millions due in 2022. The bank later said it had sold the debt years earlier and had no current interest. POLITICO had not contacted the bank first.
* 2025: It reported, via unnamed sources, that the White House was debating lifting Nord Stream 2 and other Russia energy sanctions, with Steve Witkoff as the main advocate. Rubio and Witkoff called the story false and “journalistic malpractice.”
* 2017: Its transcript quoted Trump as saying the alt-left came “charging at us,” grouping him with the alt-right. Audio did not support that wording; POLITICO later marked it indistinct.
Just a few examples.
Those are reporting failures, not proof that the First Amendment is under attack. Stop framing a White House access decision as a First Amendment issue when it is not. It is a decision to exclude from the building outlets that have repeatedly published claims about Trump that the record later contradicted.
Whilst the premise of what you say is right, they do not have to lavish him with praise.... but what they have to be in truthful in their reporting to the public.
Sadly, those organisations have proven time and time ago that they lie.
Can you honestly say they haven't mislead the people?
@ukhomeoffice@Grok - Clarify, have the UK office removed 80k illegal migrants since July 2024? Or, have some of that 80k been voluntary departures?
Can you give a break down over that time period? Also clarify if any monies changed hands for ANY of the removals.
@JoshRWillingham@BasilTheGreat Those Scientologists do this crap all over. I'm not saying it's right or that I mind it, just, the way it was said. Also, it's like 30 yrs old, hardly breaking news.
I hate myself for spending time on this.
Most of this is actually covered in canon; the leftover gap is smaller than it looks.
Canon: Salazar Slytherin built the Chamber in secret and hid the access from the other founders. The original route was not eighteenth-century plumbing. Rowling later wrote that it was a concealed trapdoor and a series of magical tunnels. The Basilisk was not locked in a single room with no way out.
In Chamber of Secrets, the tunnel leading to the Chamber is littered with small-animal bones (a rat skull is mentioned). That is the book’s evidence it had been hunting down there for centuries.
Fantastic Beasts also says a Basilisk can live many hundreds of years if it can eat mammals, birds, and most reptiles. So Slytherin left tunnels large enough for the snake to move and feed. Originally it was described as sliding beneath the floorboards, not through pipes.
Canon: Indoor plumbing only arrived at Hogwarts in the 1700s. Until then wizards vanished waste where they stood. When a bathroom was planned on top of the old entrance, a student named Corvinus Gaunt — Slytherin descendant and Parselmouth — secretly preserved the trapdoor by hiding it in a sink. That is why the entrance is in Myrtle’s bathroom. Rowling is explicit about that. She is not explicit that Gaunt redesigned the entire castle drainage system.
Inference, not canon: Gaunt knew the Chamber existed, could open it, and was already interfering with the renovation to keep the route alive for later heirs. It is reasonable to guess he also made sure the new connection — the large slide Harry uses, and perhaps a few linking runs — was big enough for the Basilisk to use the bathroom route. The book even notes that the pipe they fall down is larger than the ones branching off it. That does not require every tap in Hogwarts to fit a 50-foot oak-thick snake, and nothing says the ordinary plumbers were told why some stacks were oversized.
So: food and original movement have textual support. The later “how did it fit in the pipes?” problem is mostly the 1700s retrofit. Gaunt hiding the door is fact. Gaunt also quietly specifying a few larger pipes is a fair inference from his motive and access. It is not stated. Treat it as that, and it holds up.
*I went back and forth with AI on what I knew and added in the the non canon as logical reasons, whilst it's not confirmed, it's extremely reasonable assumptions.
We all have opinions, and they’re allowed to be different. But you can’t honestly look at this and say these men are fleeing immediate danger. They’ve already passed through multiple safe countries. They’re coming here because they know we’ll take them in.
Government after government, prime minister after prime minister, has promised to stop the boats. They haven’t. Meanwhile most of what people see and read is the cost, the hotels, the crime, and the sexual assaults — and those numbers keep climbing. You can blame the media if you want, but that’s what the public is seeing.
So what are ordinary people supposed to do when they feel every official channel has failed them? They turn up and they demonstrate. Last night that included local Portsmouth people, including an older woman paddling a canoe round the police line just to get food and supplies to those standing in the water. That’s not some imported agitators. That’s residents who’ve had enough.
You can disagree with the tactic. Fine. You don’t get to call them immoral for finally drawing a line. These protests have been largely peaceful and they did stop another load of unvetted men being quietly processed and dispersed. More people are quietly agreeing with them every week because the current approach just keeps inviting more of the same. At some point this is going to boil over if nothing actually changes.
