Three years ago today, King Charles III was crowned at Westminster Abbey. 🇬🇧
Last week I had the opportunity to share Maryland’s British Corner and my passion for British history on @DelmarvaLife following His Majesty’s visit to Washington. @UKinUSA https://t.co/jd3FaEJSib
From Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 to King Charles III in 2023 🇬🇧
Two coronations, decades apart—one family, one legacy.

Fully restored and brought back to life in Maryland. This British phone box features original posters, a working coin box, and a period-correct telephone with its original location code. Even the Welsh power tag remains inside. Drop in a shilling… you might just make a call.
After restoration, the phone box was carefully reassembled piece by piece—from the base and frame to the panels and interior fittings—bringing it back to life in its final home in Maryland.

Stripped down to bare metal, this British phone box was fully disassembled, primed with rust-preventative coating, and finished with four coats of paint before being brought back to life in Maryland. From scrap to history restored.

From a scrapyard in Cardiff, Wales to Pocomoke City, Maryland—this British phone box traveled 4,200+ miles by truck, ship, and trailer before reaching its new home. What some saw as scrap, I saw as history worth preserving. Here’s where the project began! #marylandsbritishcorner
