We must ask ourselves why, after so many years, predators have been able to operate within children’s social care. Why do grooming gangs continue to exploit children in care? And why do those in positions of power remain in denial? These are not isolated failures — they are systemic. Those entrusted with the authority to protect our most vulnerable children and young people too often choose to look the other way. It’s time for accountability, transparency, and the courage to confront these uncomfortable truths.
