Banded Demoiselle (Calopteryx spendens). What's your favourite seven-syllable word? Mine is 'pseudopterostigmata', which is what the white dots on these damsels' wings are called.

If you don't love #damselflies you clearly don't love life 😅😉 Banded demoiselle, small red eyed, and common damselfly on the Aylesbury arm of the grand Union canal last week. All shot on my @OlympusUK EM1 MK3 and the remarkable 40-150mm pro (w 1.4x TC). Stunning insects 😍
