@CobshipStarSon But it refused.

@SynthPotato The Halo franchise is over 20 years old now, honestly at this point just let it go. There's only so many games and books they can make about the same story

[LunaRockets564 @BritishLuz64B]

@53gaDr3amca5t Don't forget those three ground crew who died in a hydrogen leak during the lead up to sts-1 I think it was

@yatharthmann Center cores have to be purpose built bc they have thicker tank walls, so you couldn't use a side booster as a center core

[LunaRockets564 @BritishLuz64B]

@ToughSf I mean they already tried this to an extent. The M-21 was a hypersonic reconnaissance drone air-launched from a modified SR-71 Blackbird. They canceled it because hypersonic separation was too risky and dangerous, and used a B-52 instead

@NASAglenn totally thought that said LSTR for a moment and almost lost it

[LunaRockets564 @BritishLuz64B]

@rah_66_comanche tbh doing the math, I see why no reason an expended F9 or an Ariane 6 cant do it, especially cause Ariane 6 is hydrolox

[LunaRockets564 @BritishLuz64B]

@block3flaps TOH & Starship??? In this economy?

[LunaRockets564 @BritishLuz64B]

@megagoose11 Sun-Jupiter is just a planet orbiting a star, because if it was just those 2, the barycenter would be inside the sun. But, a more interesting question is if the Earth-Moon system is a binary planet, because as the moon moves away, the barycenter wont be inside the Earth anymore.

[LunaRockets564 @BritishLuz64B]

@vixen_sly @NoonTheWolf ooh is that an SLS H2 tank? very nice

[LunaRockets564 @BritishLuz64B]

[LunaRockets564 @BritishLuz64B]

@block3flaps Lumity referenced in the big 25??? the world is healing

@Theodore1jensen My favorite futuristic failure mode is in a centrifugal open cycle gas-core NTR, which, in the case of a bearing failure, would turn into a straight-up beyblade of nuclear death, so that's fun.
