🇺🇳🇮🇱🇵🇸 The UN says Israel deliberately targeted Gaza's children
This is the UN's own investigative commission, not an activist group, and its new report concludes Israel set out to kill Palestinian children as part of an ongoing genocide.
The commission counted at least 20,179 children killed and 44,143 injured in Gaza between 7 October 2023 and 7 October 2025.
Its reading of why is the part that sits heaviest. By going after the children, the report says, Israel is trying to hollow out the next generation and choke off the Palestinian people's ability to exist and rebuild.
One case the commissioners read aloud: a 14-year-old shot by a patrol outside his own home with no fighting anywhere near, then left on the ground while soldiers stood around him for around 45 minutes as he bled to death.
Chris Sidoti, one of the three commissioners behind the report and a veteran human rights lawyer, didn't hedge.
"There can be no doubt in anyone who reads today's report that every international legal norm has been violated by the actions of the Israeli authorities towards Palestinian children, and they need to be held accountable."
The findings add up to genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in Gaza, plus war crimes in the West Bank. Israel calls the report a defamatory sham.
The world, for the most part, has gone quiet.

The Egyptian FIFA World Cup team’s plan to fly directly from Vancouver to Seattle ahead of their final group match against Iran was declined by local security officials, coach Hossam Hassan has said.
“The security authorities refused the team’s request to stay in the city of Seattle as planned after the New Zealand match in the World Cup, and therefore the team’s delegation will return to the city of Spokane,” Hossam said in a statement released by the Egyptian Football Association on Monday.
Iranian officials said they have closed the Strait of Hormuz, citing what they said was the U.S. failure to stop fighting in Lebanon https://t.co/3OgTgBIAm6
