Thank you, @CarrieD_KISD for the session on Navigating Negative Mindset tonight! Feeling empowered to say “No” (to some things 😉), and put my self care as a top priority. #perfectionismisnotabadgeofhonor #martyrdomisnothealthy @KleinProfLearn

You cannot love your neighbor while supporting or accepting systems that crush, exploit, and dehumanize them.

You cannot love your neighbor while accepting less for them and their family than you do for you and your own.

[Justin @JustinElbertPR]

It’s not “radicalizing” to teach kids that #BlackLivesMatter.

It’s not “leftist indoctrination” to teach kids that #LGBTQ people deserve to be treated the same as anyone else.

It’s just teaching them to be good people.

It’s that simple.

[Texas Education Agency @teainfo]

ICYMI - Earlier TEA Guidance Still Applies - School systems may begin the year virtually under TEA funding waivers for up to four weeks, and can extend that for an additional four weeks. TEA will also continue to adjust its waivers as the situation warrants. #txed

[Klein ISD @KleinISD]

Please see the details in the video below from Superintendent Dr. McGown and also in our update here: https://t.co/cCBa4zKFOR

[Texas Tribune @TexasTribune]

Texas reported 10,893 coronavirus hospitalizations and 197 new deaths today — record highs in both categories. https://t.co/ZBVe7nN91n

[Sylvester Turner @SylvesterTurner]

Our goal when it comes to combating #COVID19, is when our positivity rate is at 5% or less. We have a long way to go as our current positivity rate is currently around 25%.

If you are around individuals or around a large group not wearing masks, please turn around.

[Houston Mayor's Office @houmayor]

About 25% of Houstonians getting tested for #COVID19 are coming back positive, indicating a high level of disease is spreading in our community.

We need to drive the positivity rate down to 5% or below. We have a long way to go and need everyone to #maskup and social distance.

[Tomball ISD @TomballISD]

UPDATE: @TomballISD will start the school year on Aug. 18 with ALL students in remote/virtual instruction only.

We are delaying face-to-face, in-person instruction for at least 4 weeks & will be scheduled to begin on Sept. 15.

Today, Tarrant County joined other officials and postponed in-person learning for public and non-religious private schools. Schools cannot open until Sept. 28. https://t.co/Nkp5qqou17

[Keller Schools @KellerISD]

Today, Tarrant County Health and Human Services issued an order requiring that schools not reopen for on-campus, face-to-face instruction until Sept. 28, 2020. In compliance with that order, Keller ISD will hold all classes remotely only Aug. 19-Sept. 27.

[Office of Judge Lina Hidalgo @HarrisCoJudge]

In order to learn & grow, students must be healthy & safe. We urge school districts to defer in-person instruction for at least 8 weeks per @TEAinfo provisions, until data supports a phased in-person reopening.

[Houston Health Dept @HoustonHealth]

An increase in #COVID19 testing should mean a lower positivity rate. But in Houston, the opposite is happening. This means there is a very high level of disease spreading in our city. If we want to restore the economy, we must #MaskUp, #SocialDistance & #WashHands. #hounews
