@gatinhocoffee@oncloud_e@Pickle169730 Money isn’t real. The talking point about U.S. debt is designed to get bipartisan support for keeping interest rates low, and interest rates have to be low so super unprofitable industries can be floated by free money so that the public doesn’t notice the bailout and subsidies
@BenSatterthwai2@GeneralGrantW@chacaranda That’s the point. New housing isn’t going to the people that need it most, but the wealthy and corporations that are willing and able to hold on to them until they can raise the price. Even more housing isn’t going to change their ability to do that.
@MajUub___@squeezew4x You know many Christians want to fill Israel with Jews to end the world right? Arguably they are more responsible than Jewish people for what’s going on now, but obviously there’s been many Christians, Jews, and Muslims backing Israel right now.
@Arc_Trooper_48@actingliketommy@ProjectLiberal@kingcryopunk@gravedragon_ Freezing rent doesn’t mean no income, just not higher than what it has been. A rent freeze could lead to more supply so long as increased operating expenditures remain under per unit profit, because the only way to increase profits then is to increase units.
@sajohnson1984@miroirdufou@jk_rowling All social categories are subjective in a sense: class, race, gender, sexual orientation, etc.. The law is capable of specifying what it means when it’s relevant; it’s able to protect these categories.
@munro_nell@hriengaalkn “Break the law and hope that you’re not caught” is one hell of a response to a ruling, and shows little faith in the actual ruling. We’ve always known right-wingers are going to be the dog that caught the car with the policies they want.
@Deeofdeath @strvmpetss @misandristenby For one, I’m a godless cracker. I just thought it was clear you were giving preferential judgement towards Christianity.
