Holidays for ministerial access. Graham Brady standing down doesn’t absolve him of his responsibilities to comply with the #Nolan principles on public life. People in #Altrincham and #SaleWest deserve better and they shouldn’t have to wait another 12-18 months to get it.
Beyond disgusted at Trafford Conservatives abstaining from voting for Labour's motion against the reversal of the £20 per week UC uplift. Absolute shocking lack of basic empathy. I'd be ashamed if these people represented my community.
What have I just seen? 1st proper council meeting, it seems trafford Tories are against; clean air, skint people getting £20 a week extra in UC to feed themselves, house building then refused to support an anti-racism motion? I mean ‘Does that count as a good day at the office?’
Just a few of my fabulous Labour women colleagues tonight, first in person full Council meeting since Feb 20 and Barry and Waseem!
Motions passed on the Clean Air Plan, Places for Everyone, Cuts to Universial Credit, Labours Childrens Recovery Plan and the Sewell Report 🔥
And so to recap: they’re against tackling housing crisis, don’t support cleaning up our air, won’t support keeping UC uplift as “it’s a Labour motion”, oppose the catch up funding their gov Tsar said needed, and deny systemic racism holds people back. Just repulsive.
Disgusting to see Trafford Tories refuse to support plans to improve air quality in Greater Manchester which contributes to 1200 deaths a year here. Laughably it’s their government mandating us (rightly for once) to do this. Truly pathetic and shows no regard for public health.
At full Council and a member of the public has presented a petition on 20s Plenty.@Trafford_Labour are committed to safety around schools and safer neighbourhoods. My maiden speech in 2011 was on this very issue when the Tories in power opposed it. Listen to them now.
