Absolutely whupped by my old buddy Bill today at the balloon game @Toptracer not gonna show the embarrassment of my chart ๐ณ but look at these balloons of Bill's- he never loses it - time to get him back on the golf course #superseniors ๐
2/2 have some wet areas especially in the field and on the lower holes. The situation is very fluid so please keep an eye on the website for updates and prepare for possible restrictions. Pictured last year vs this year, a great illustration of rainfall from Radyr golf club.
What a difference a year makes! Firstly Happy New Year to all the members and visitors to Broadway Golf Club. A challenging end to the year with conditions but we strive to always try and improve. The good news is the course is open although on a shorten course as we still 1/1
Great service from @ALS_Contracts to get all the fairways vertidrained today after rescheduling from Monday. This essential work will help move moisture through the profile.
Snow still covering the course so it will remain CLOSED today and we see what the weather brings today. Unfortunately I have to report that we have a 4wd enter the course on the 6th and caused some wheel spin damage.
SNOW UPDATE. Still a good amount of snow across the course which will take time to clear with the very cold temperatures kept even lower by the cold wind. Inspection in the morning but not looking great.
2nd Hole Update
The contractors have been back today and have raked and firmed the type 1 gravel base and laid the rubber liner. To allow the rubber time to dry the revetting will take place on Monday
Unfortunately the weather has beaten the course again with with 23mm falling overnight and this morning(still counting) this has left the whole course saturated. Inspection at 12.00 midday.
Work currently being carried out on the 1st and 3rd medal Tees (4th main and front of 2 and 12 to do) the 3rd picture shows the roots under the 3rd medal and shows the detrimental effect trees planted too close has. This tee has really suffered despite being irrigated.
3/3 The one thing which would help would be for as many golfers as possible to carry a bag. Half sets in a pencil bag would help the course cope trough the winter while allowing you to avoid walking the extra routes once the fences go out to protect areas from trolleys.
1/1 Dark mornings beckon at the moment so working by lights and moon light the order of the day. Leaves falling well and require a daily clear but unfortunately still more to fall. Worms continue to be a challenge and causes issues when mowing, especially fairways.
