Anyway I hope you’re all planning to vote on November 3rd. Our industry needs government relief to survive, and we control who’s in power to decide that. We also need to fight to prevent our freedoms and rights from being taken away. Vote!
Tony nom thoughts! I think it’s great that we can bring some attention and joy to the theater community right now. Congrats to all the nominees! It’s not a normal nomination experience and your accomplishments should still be noted and applauded 🌟
In addition, I hope all shows and agencies are paying their digital managers for creating art and social campaigns during “Tony season”. I’ve seen many people who view it as “just a post here and there” and not a job. Everyone is unemployed rn and deserves that compensation 💵
The world was blessed to have Nick and is blessed to have his music and his legacy. Blast his songs and pray tonight ❤️ Do a good deed in his name. Donate to his family. Donate blood. Wear a mask. Put good into the world to fill the massive void he left.
Nick Cordero was one of the kindest, most generous, most brilliant people I have met in the theater industry. He has left his mark on all of us. My heart is with his incredibly strong wife Amanda, and his beautiful son Elvis. Please share your favorite Nick memory with me ❤️
I’m pretty sure everyone that has ever met Nick has a special Nick story. He was just that kind of person. He was selfless- and now it’s our turn. It’s on us wear masks and to take care of our fellow humans during this pandemic. Because people like Nick deserve to still be here.
I saw him in Waitress and A Bronx Tale, and it was laughable how different he was from the kinds of characters he played. He wasn’t intimidating. He was funny. He was friendly. He had this deep love for his family and for music and it shone in everything he did 🌟
I’ll never forget talking with him at his soundcheck before his 54 below show. He engaged with all the staff, including my new interns, and made sure to ask our names. He had this absurd idea that people wouldn’t like his show, which was very quickly proven wrong (he was INSANE)
When theater comes back, it should come back with no more unpaid internships or less-than-minimum-wage apprenticeships. Most of them are illegal anyways, and it only allows the privileged among us to build a good resume.
I’ve spent a lot of time criticizing the Tony Awards for their sexism and not nearly enough time criticizing their racism. So today, on what would have been the ceremony’s 74th, let’s take a closer look:
On behalf of the entire Constitution family, we have donated $6,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (@NAACP_LDF) to fight the continuing racism, inequality, and violence against black people in the United States. Please join us if you can: https://t.co/e1ZoVseKwN
I LOVE shows that incorporate audience participation!!! The 87 amber alerts that went off during #ScotlandPA tonight really added a lot to that quiet moment in the show!
As you’ve probably noticed, I’ve taken a year off Humans of Broadway. It was a year in which I felt stuck, and didn’t want to put out content if it wasn’t creative and fulfilling. Recently, I’ve stopped feeling that way, so it’s time to come back, better than ever.
