Anybody ever heard of the “Upcountry” in SC?
I’m guessing it’s a mythical place off I-85 where everyone wears pastels and Palmetto trees grow in the mountains to confuse people from Ohio into just moving there instead.

I used to think it was odd the NC Vietnam War Memorial is at a highway rest stop.
But I find myself stopping at it every time. And I’m not the only one. People are still stopping by to let their friends know they aren’t forgotten and I met a guy who comes here to play music.

Ah, memories. Joined this thing largely because @RicCantrell announced @utahsenate media availabilities on it back before there even was a mobile phone app.
That was one of many early efforts toward digital transparency in government in Utah.
This is where I went to high school. I had to search for news coverage after a friend told me about it. That’s not a knock on National news outlets. School shootings are just so common that a single death doesn’t demand attention like it used to. The public is sadly used to it.
