President Isaac Herzog visited the headquarters of United Hatzalah, where he was shown the organization’s latest lifesaving technologies, including advanced GPS systems that help volunteer medics reach patients faster and drones capable of delivering critical medical equipment within minutes.
During the visit, the president received a tour from United Hatzalah founder and president Eli Beer, who highlighted how these innovations are helping volunteers save lives across Israel.
The visit came at a difficult time for the organization, which is mourning one of its dedicated volunteers who was among the victims of the recent rocket attack in Beit Shemesh, where a special dedication was also held in her memory.
In his remarks, President Herzog warned that Israel’s enemies are attempting to wear down the public through repeated attacks and constant sirens, saying, “They are trying to break our spirit… but they are confused. The people of Israel are strong and have extraordinary resilience.”
When asked if he had a message for Jews around the world, the president responded with three powerful words: “Am Yisrael Chai.”

I travel to the United States almost every other week, so I wanted to see firsthand what’s happening at Ben Gurion Airport as flights begin moving again. I went down to the airport to speak with travelers and airline staff. Here’s my latest report for Jewish Breaking News

Driving through Modiin today and noticed crews putting up Israeli flags along the street lights all over the city 🇮🇱
There’s something powerful about seeing an entire street lined with the Israeli flag. It just stops you for a moment.
I’m not exactly sure what prompted them to put them up right now… whether it’s connected to the current situation or something else? but it definitely adds a sense of pride and unity when you see them waving across the city.
Sometimes the small visual reminders mean a lot.

Simone and I stepped out for a little Erev Shabbat shopping and just discovered an amazing spot… Shuk Ha’Ochel.
Great food, great energy, and exactly the kind of place you stumble upon and immediately know you’ll be back. Nothing like the atmosphere of Erev Shabbat in Israel. 🇮🇱✨

This afternoon I witnessed something extraordinary here in Israel… a modified wedding taking place outdoors that speaks volumes about the resilience of the Jewish people. But you’ll have to watch to understand why. For more breaking news, visit https://t.co/3aYsZXutt9.

Purim this year is not something we’re taking for granted in Israel. The simple act of gathering to hear the Megillah feels like a gift. It’s customary everywhere for someone to make a few announcements before the reading, but what’s said here is different. While communities around the world may hear reminders about costumes or celebrations, here the instructions begin with security: where the nearest shelter is, what to do if a siren sounds. It’s a powerful reminder that in Israel, even our joy is carried out with vigilance. This is Purim in this moment. #JewishBreakingNews #Purim #Israel #JBN
Two scenes. One reality.
Rubble and rescue crews still working as the sun sets over Beit Shemesh.
Just steps away, reporters trying to explain to the world what happened here.
Destruction. Courage. Prayer. Resilience. All at once.
This is Israel.
May the memories of those murdered be a blessing. May the injured heal quickly. And may we see quieter days ahead. 🇮🇱💙

*JBN On Scene: Nine Killed, Dozens Wounded in Iranian Missile Strike on Beit Shemesh*
Israel was rocked Sunday by one of the deadliest attacks on its soil since the October 7 Hamas massacre.
Broide described entire apartment buildings reduced to rubble and spoke directly with medics working frantically to treat the wounded. Emergency personnel told JBN that victims were pulled from collapsed structures as crews continued combing through debris for anyone still trapped.
At least four apartments were destroyed in the blast. Approximately 30 ambulances were dispatched as emergency teams raced against time.
According to Beit Shemesh Mayor Shmuel Greenberg, approximately 10 individuals remain unaccounted for as search and rescue operations continue into the night.

*IDF Lights Hanukkah Candles in Rafah With Bibas Family Menorah as Fallen Sister’s Message of Defiance Echoes Through Gaza*
On the final night of Hanukkah, the IDF says soldiers lit the eighth candle in Rafah with Sgt. (res.) Dana Silberman-Sitton Bibas, the sister of Shiri Bibas, of blessed memory, alongside Golani Brigade commander Col. Adi Ganon and other Gaza Division troops.
The menorah wasn’t symbolic. It was the Bibas family’s own chanukiah, partially burned in the Oct. 7 massacre at Kibbutz Nir Oz. Dana’s words cut through the smoke and grief: she imagined the wind carrying the candlelight across the Strip “so that all who hate us will see and know that this light cannot be extinguished.”
For Israelis, the Bibas family became a searing emblem of Hamas brutality — Shiri was abducted with her young sons Ariel and Kfir, later confirmed murdered in captivity, while Yarden Bibas was freed in a hostage deal.
Col. Ganon said he once found Shiri’s photo taped inside a tank’s sight, a reminder soldiers carry into every mission. In Rafah, that same image turned into flame — a quiet vow that Hamas can murder lives, but it can’t put out Israel’s spirit.

I’ve been a longtime fan of American Airlines.
Miles. Routes. The occasional upgrade.
But today I noticed something I never expected to see at JFK:
American Airlines & Chabad Air.
Chabad Air.
I don’t know when I signed up for that loyalty program, but apparently it comes with light, warmth, and a menorah at the gate.
Some airlines offer snacks.
Some offer Wi-Fi.
This one offers Chanukah before takeoff.
If Chabad Air starts boarding early for mitzvot, I’m definitely in Group 1. ✈️🕎

And then this moment.
As Simone dropped me off at Ben Gurion Airport, I looked up and saw the control tower lit up in blue with a menorah glowing proudly down the side. No announcements. No fanfare. Just light… quiet, confident, unmistakable.
From family Chanukah moments to airport terminals, from private goodbyes to public symbols, Chanukah in Israel reminds you that Jewish light isn’t hidden here. It rises. It shines. It sends you on your way.
Grateful. Inspired. Carrying this light wherever the journey leads. 🕎✈️💙
