The Judee Sill episode is out now! Judee is one of the most fascinating figures in 20th century music. Her songs are strange, complicated and hauntingly beautiful. Her story is as enchanting as it is heartbreaking, punctuated with her struggles to overcome personal demons

I read up until “although it doesn’t serve as a complete replacement for physical activity…”

Was really hoping to confirm that jamming to Sticky Fingers is the same as running 5 miles.

“You have to learn how to have a party and not invite any part of your psyche that feels the need to judge what you make as a reflection of you…the part of you that cannot tolerate any outward expression that might be flawed.”

One way the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame could become more culturally significant is if it decided to perfectly align with my personal musical preferences!!!

I’ve watched a lot of Amoeba What’s In My Bag videos over the past two years, especially when record stores were closed. Always wondered whether the artists were comped. They are.

In this one Chris Robinson raves about Judee Sill

@chipmidnight We give them a gift certificate and they are welcome to buy the items they pick out with that. Sometimes they buy a lot more stuff than what the GC could cover and sometimes they don't. It's totally up to each guest.

I’ve owned two of the recommended turntables. Both the U-Turn Orbit & the Pro-Ject Carbon are awesome. For budget entry level, I always recommend the Audio-Technica AT-LP60X (paired with a decent Bluetooth or bookshelf speakers) over any all-in-ones

Here I am yammering about The Great Midwest, again. Endless thanks to Jim and Greg, two of my music journo heroes.
