Today I start a new chapter and join the @Hytale team as a Game Designer and Developer to work on Minigames. I’m SO thrilled to bring everything I know into the team and learn even more while making great games that everyone can play, explore and take inspiration from.
I remembered I had a Youtube channel, so I made a video looking at what's in Hytale's oceans, and it turns out that it's actually kind of fascinating down there. https://t.co/8kFVP138yi
I don’t know what to say.
There will be another time. But saying goodbye like this is more painful than I can fathom.
I dedicated my life to bringing you the stories of this world. I can only hope that the road doesn’t end here for good.
Video coming soon.
Destiny was nowhere near the best game of all time, but it was definitely my favorite game of all time. I sunk thousands of hours across both games from D1 launch all the way to Final Shape. It hurt to see it in its current state, because there's nothing else quite like it, even with all the vaulting and poor decisions, it scratched an itch that no other game is able to. It's unfortunate that half its story will never be playable again, but at least it's getting a final update instead of continuing to decay. This is probably the best case scenario given the situation. And as many problems as I've had with Bungie over the past couple years, I know I'd play a Destiny 3 in a heartbeat because of what this game and its world means to me.

For almost twelve years, we have had the joy and honor to explore the Destiny universe with you all. Through all the ups and downs, surprises and triumphs, building Destiny alongside our players has been a monumental privilege. While our love for Destiny 2 has not changed, it has become clear that after The Final Shape, we have reached the time for our shared worlds, and Destiny, to live beyond Destiny 2.
As our focus turns towards a new beginning for Bungie, we will begin work incubating our next games. To that end, on June 9, 2026, we will release the final live-service content update for Destiny 2 to begin that new journey as a studio.
Though active development may be concluding, we will ensure that Destiny 2 remains playable, just as the original Destiny is today. Many changes in this final update will aim to ensure that Destiny 2 is a welcoming place for players to return to.
We’re proud of Destiny 2, the places it took us, and the legacy it has created. Because of you all, our universe is vast, built on years of shared stories, adventures, and victories. From the Cosmodrome to the Pale Heart to the Lawless Frontier, we have forged life-long memories and friendships with you all.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made that journey with us.
From the deepest part of our hearts, thank you, and we'll see you in the stars.
#Hytale's oceans are very unfinished, which is perfectly fine considering the devs have a hundred more important things on their to-do list. But for those of you who've explored the depths, what interesting observations have you made? And for everyone, what would you like to see be implemented for the game's ocean in the future?
@MetalFolf 2 and 4 help with the context of the story, but aren't necessary, while 7 and 8 are much closer gameplay-wise to how 9 feels (also the remake of 4 when it comes to Leon's parts). If you're hesitant, I'd give 7 a try first to see if you like the gameplay.
