Year 1 enjoyed their last day. They decided to use the last of the cardboard to create their own creations using just felt tips. They then showed off their creations in during our waking gallery. Well done!
Year 1 had some choosing time this morning and some of them chose to do some free writing. What a great way to show off all of their learning this year. Well done! They definitely made the adult, particularly Mr Leach, smile 😊
A couple of space hats the children made for space day. The whole classroom was flooded with creativity! Everyone made a fantastic effort. Well done, year 1!
After successfully passing astronaut school, year 1 completed their first space mission. They landed on the moon. Keep an eye out to see what they got upto next…

Year 1 created their sculptures this morning. They took inspiration from Oliver Jeffers’ ‘Here We Are’ to draw and design their own sculpture before sculpting it using clay and a range of techniques.
In art, year 1 were exploring materials and using these to make their own sculptures with no particular goal in mind. Following this, they had the chance to walk through the Year 1 Sculpture Garden to look at all of the interesting creations.
Y1 learnt lots of facts about different animals today. They were all well behaved, showed fantastic listening and had the chance to hold the animals. They will use this knowledge to help with English and science this term. Thanks to the Broken Cross PTA for funding the workshop.
Year 1 enjoyed another visit to the big field this afternoon. We spent our afternoon play there, listening to a story before checking up on the animal dens built on Thursday morning.
Year 1 enjoyed a fabulous visit to St Thomas’ church this afternoon. They loved it, particularly when they got to be detectives, looking for different items in the church.
