Here's why:

First red flag was the "Where are you inviting me" text.

Signals she's more interested in where I'm going to take her than she is in actually meeting me.

But she's Russian, and in my experience Slavic women just tend to be very blunt, it's their culture.

So I play along.

I've learned Slavic women tend to be very feminine and love to dress up so I offer the rooftop bar idea.

I propose a date, and she counters with the most expensive rooftop bar in the city.

For a first date!

This isn't a girlfriend I want to treat to a fancy evening.

It's a stranger I've exchanged 5 messages with.

I'm not interested in auditioning for the role of "guy who spends a lot of money on me."

If she wants to meet me, great.

But I'm not paying a premium just to find out whether she's interested in me or what I can provide.

Men should always screen for genuine desire first.

Save the fancy dates for women who have already demonstrated they're genuinely interested in you, not just what you can provide.

@BradleyGrey_ I'm assuming you're American. The problem is that only Americans get treated this way (for the most part) by slavics. You're all so painfully desperate and supplicating. I saw it in Ukraine for years. Always Americans set up for the grift. Too puppy dog keen, needy and wet.
