We love our comfort; God prefers our faith. We love predictability; God invites us to adventure. We want relief; God wants redemption. We want a break; God is after a breakthrough. Hidden in every circumstance is an opportunity to experience God, engage our faith & see Him move.
Sayings like "your results are a reflection of you" & "what's in the well comes up in the bucket" encourage people to judge their fundamental essence by external results. Which is the kind of simplistic toxicity I expect from self-help charlatans-- but not experienced therapists.
"You can't heal what you can't feel."
Eh. Yeah, but-- if the only way you can "feel" is an overwhelming hurricane of emotions & memories you have no realistic skills or tools or resources to handle, you're...not "healing" anything.

On major life decisions, the purpose of seeking advice is not to get answers. It’s to gain perspective.
No one knows what's best for you. They can only share what makes sense to them.
The most important question to ask is not what you should do. It's what you might be missing.
Your dreams require a different version of you — actions, thoughts, mannerisms, beliefs and what have you. Making it imperative for you to define who you want to be and act accordingly. To be, you must first become.
By 30 teach yourself to:
1. Properly apologize (when you truly feel you’ve done something hurtful)
2. Express yourself in a rational way upset.
3. Let the emotion pass before making a decision or impulsive action.
4. Look at the role you play in every situation.
5. Place boundaries around toxic behavior.
You’re safe.
No one is mad at you.
You can stop assuming.
You’re not that small child in trouble, who can’t relax.
The hypervigilance is from your past.
You’re safe, now.
