“Wherever they go, and whatever happens to them on the way, in that enchanted place on the top of the forest, a little boy and his Bear will always be playing.” - A.A. Milne
During a visit to Ashdown Forst, The Queen met staff, volunteers and local school children at ‘The Enchanted Place’, the spot where Christopher Robin said goodbye to Pooh at the end of ‘The House at Pooh Corner’.
Between 1925 and 1940, author A. A. Milne lived near Ashdown Forest with his son, Christopher Robin, which provided the inspiration for the 100 Acre Wood.
Marking 100 years since the publication of the first Winnie-the-Pooh book in 1926, Her Majesty today unveiled an all-weather trail named ‘Queen’s Walk’ that will enable easier access to the forest for future generations.
Gone with the Wind (1939) Opening Credits and Musical Score by Austrian composer Max Steiner, one of the greatest musical composers in the history of motion pictures.
Steiner composed over 300 film scores with RKO Pictures and Warner Bros. and was nominated for 24 Academy Awards, winning three: The Informer (1935); Now, Voyager (1942); and Since You Went Away (1944). Besides his Oscar-winning scores, some of Steiner's popular works include King Kong (1933), Little Women (1933), Jezebel (1938), and Casablanca (1942), though he did not compose its love theme, “As Time Goes By”. In addition, Steiner scored The Searchers (1956), A Summer Place (1959), and Gone with the Wind (1939), which ranked second on the AFI's list of best American film scores, and is the film score for which he is best known.
“I wonder what Piglet is doing,” thought Pooh.
“I wish I were there to be doing it, too.”
- A. A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
During a visit to Ashdown Forest in celebration of 100 years since the first Winnie-the-Pooh book was published, The Queen stopped off at Piglet’s House.
Remember Meghan Markle's Netflix tale? She claimed a crew member knelt beside her on the plane from the UK to Canada and whispered, "We appreciate everything you did for our country." She said it moved her - finally, someone recognized her great sacrifice.
I choked on my wine, gagged, and threw up in my mouth all at the same time.
Anyway.......🙄
I'll take "Things That Never Happened" for $500, Alex.
(Unless they just meant "thanks for taking Harry off our hands.")
This is the same woman who was living in a modest rented Toronto townhouse, pushing 40, with no acting prospects and quietly being written out of Suits.
Her narcissism isn't just on display - it's a full-blown masterclass in delusional grandeur, delivered with the self-awareness of a black hole.
A walking case study in how unchecked ego devours reality.
Directed by Otto Preminger, Laura (1944) is widely regarded as a classic of film noir, a style of dark, atmospheric Hollywood cinema often associated with crime and moral ambiguity that flourished in the 1940s and 1950s.
The story follows detective Mark McPherson (Dana Andrews) as he investigates the apparent murder of advertising executive Laura Hunt (Gene Tierney). As he interviews those who knew her, he becomes increasingly fascinated by her, leading to one of cinema’s most memorable twists.
The Princess of Wales is living her best life.
Loved by her entire family. Doing meaningful work. Breaking ceilings. Admired around the world.
Quietly preparing for the ultimate role: Queen.
No daily PR. No desperate headlines. No endless need to convince the world of her worth.
Just grace. Calm. Purpose. Strength.
Unbothered. Unshaken. Thriving.
While others spend every waking moment trying to compete with her, Catherine simply lives her life and wins without even playing the game. 👑
Prince Harry does not have any right to disrespect and cause bullying at Buckingham Palace staff.
You are not a child, although you act like one.
Fool.
It's stunning, but not surprising, that after 6 years of disruption, disrespect & gripes about the Royal Family, it is the King who is being criticised for not caving to his son's 11th hour demands. Buckingham Palace is the seat of the British Monarchy. It is not the Holiday Inn.
So in Spare, Harry wrote about being confused as to why #PrinceWilliam wanted to spend so much time with the Middletons, was dismissive about it, and a little jealous. William found a strong, loving family bond with them. They welcomed him and offered him true close family connection that he craved and was missing. He didn’t marry a woman that was estranged from her family and most of her friends. William didn’t marry a woman who didn’t value familial bonds and didn’t care about the importance of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins to children. Harry did. So while his brother has the love and support of both his wife’s family and his own, Harry is in California, isolated with his harpy wife and children he has little say over and who don’t know ANY family. Harrys kids are going to grow up resentful and angry, just like their father. Way to break the cycle, Harry. William did though. #MeghanMarkle #HarryandMeghan #PrinceandPrincessofWales
If Reconciliation Matters, Why Doesn’t It Apply to Thomas Markle?
A pointed question for the so-called royal experts, commentators and journalists:
Why does the endless conversation about “reconciliation” revolve almost exclusively around Prince Harry and the Royal Family, while Meghan Markle’s estrangement from her own father and much of her family is treated as a non-issue that barely deserves mention?
If reconciliation is the noble, compassionate cause so many claim it is, why has there been virtually zero sustained pressure on Meghan to address the years of public pain from Thomas Markle?
Thomas Markle has repeatedly and openly expressed his desire to see his daughter and grandchildren, even while battling serious health challenges. Yet his situation is simply ignored.
Harry and Meghan have made grave accusations against the Royal Family: racism, failing to support Meghan’s mental health, briefing against them, leaking stories, failing to shield them from media scrutiny, and making them feel trapped. If those claims are as serious as they insist, why is reconciliation with that same institution relentlessly pushed as the moral imperative while any reconciliation with Meghan’s own father is barely acknowledged, let alone demanded?
Why has Harry never been seriously pressed on his apparent lack of effort to build or repair a relationship with his father-in-law? Why is Thomas Markle’s perspective so completely written out of the story?
It raises an uncomfortable question:
Reconciliation only generates relentless headlines, speculation, sympathy, relevance and attention when it involves the Crown, global prestige, wealth and institutional power. Reconciliation with Thomas Markle offers none of those things so it is treated as disposable.
Every few weeks we get another round of “Will Harry reconcile with the King? Will he return? Will the family heal?” Yet the equally legitimate questions about Meghan’s side of the family meet only silence.
The Sussex-aligned commentators and journalists who keep recycling this one-sided reconciliation narrative owe the public some answers. Why is one fractured family endlessly expected to forgive and forget, while the other is never expected to confront or heal anything at all?
The selective silence is not accidental. It reveals exactly which relationships are considered valuable and which ones are treated as disposable.
A genuine reality check is long overdue. If reconciliation is truly about accountability, forgiveness and healing, the principle must apply equally to both sides. Otherwise, it isn’t a principle. It’s just selective PR.
I’m so incredibly proud of you my darling sister.”
“We talked about climbing mountains while you were in hospital…” 🥺
A beautiful message from James Middleton after he joined Catherine for the Three Peaks Hike last weekend❤️
Rita Hayworth and Fred Astaire make this tap dancing routine in You'll Never Get Rich (1941) look effortless. Every step is perfectly timed, every turn flows naturally, and neither dancer ever seems to be chasing the music. Their movement feels so smooth that it’s easy to forget just how difficult this level of precision really is.
It wasn’t just their technical ability. They trusted each other completely, creating a connection that made every routine feel natural, elegant, and unforgettable.
Hey Meghan Markle, since you've caused a fuss with your upcoming visit with the King, could you now take the children to see Thomas Markle Senior, who is back in the States? Surely, you don't need taxpayer-funded security for that.🤡🙄
Love, in its simplest form. 🤍
If love had a heartbeat…
I think it would sound a lot like this.
The Princess of Wales being greeted by her family after completing the National Three Peaks Challenge. 🥹♥️
