We protect children and families with providing the supports they need when they need them. Good social protection systems aim to do this and ESN highlights a development in Ireland doing this positively. Much done but more to do to provide supports in a timely manner.
Still thinking about this heartbreaking note from a mother whose child attended the @Barnardos_IRL Vision for Change launch without her yesterday to talk about the impact of domestic violence on children.
"This is the never ending power of the abuser."
@ESNsocial Human rights day underlines the dignity in all people of whatever race or nationality. We all have an inherent dignity. We are all important and we all have rights. We need to respect this in each other and ourselves.
Useful self care tool for everyone and evidence informed. Important for those who care to prepare and hold a caring space even with the pressure of work.
I was very proud to be at the celebration for Teen Parent Support Programme today. I got to hear young confident and witty women who are now proud parents with the support of TPSP funded through Tusla. Well done to all those who supported this from start to now.
The most powerful evaluation of any programme is how it is experienced by those it’s designed for. Well done to Courtney & Jodie @lmksocservices Teen Parent Support Prog. for sharing their (very witty) stories & echoing the importance of consistent but flexible supports
Hearing from children about the impact of domestic violence helps us to see through their eyes including the fear, anxiety and confusion they are left with. Let’s listen….
It's Social Work Awareness Week, and Tusla is delighted to announce that applications are now open for more than 70 new social work apprentices for its 2025 Level 9 Master of Social Work apprenticeship program. Apply now at https://t.co/gcRJZH1GC0 until December 20.
Very proud today to hear two apprentices talk about how the apprenticeship pathway supported them to do social work. Also Ciara who is a social work team leader in Tallaght and mentor for apprentices, making this happen.
Great intervention by care-leaver + @tusla Social Work Apprentice, Daulet Nurmukhanov, on why the Apprenticeship Programme is important, particularly in giving an opportunity to those coming from youth work, refugee integration, & other social justice backgrounds an opportunity.
