@joecarpenter678 Kroil,PB Blaster, Zep or some kind of penetrent in that area first step in removal. By the time you are ready to seperate, a big pry bar and off she'll come. Disimilar metals & atmospheric corrosion do a number on the guide dowels.
NHRA – 1978. Bob Glidden becomes first and only driver in any category to reach the final at every event in the series (nine Nationals that year). @NHRA
@KWWL A council meeting to determine a amendment so that taking a shit in public would be included with not being able to piss in public as well. Sad times we are living in.
In a clutch car this pilot is critical for top performance. The trans input shaft centered depends on it. Any excess runout added with tolerance stacking in flywheel and pressure plate tends to eat clutches and erratic launch 60ft times. Bellhousing centered , pressure plate concentric and preferably a roller bearing centered pilot with a trued trans input shaft makes car happy. Happy=consistent fast .
Nothing like taking in a ballgame in the same stadium you went to as a child 55 years ago. Hotdog, popcorn, and peanuts rounded out the experience. Simple life is good -
Waterloo Bucks
Rochester Honkers.
The Honkers creamed the home team today - a 5 run 1st inning and a grand slam homer sealed the Bucks fate. Waterloo Iowa .
Bought some Oakley 3 knockoffs at Kmart back 80's - yeah they were an aquired taste too, a poor mans . Very plasticky , on the junk bikes they went. And I am going to say it - the best Oakley's were the 1's , the OG's . Those Fuan's were high end copycats , still felt like ski pole grips .
I moved to diag and driveability in the end while the young techs ate up all the gravy. Was elected to become a heavy tech (engine/trans/diffs) giy but they would not allow repair only exchange whole systems. I couldn't see a path forward for me as a glorified parts hanger so went into management and writing. Switched to Used car after that as a means to actually repair again when sales managers valued repair over replace profits. Did the alignment gig also and it was another area where actual repairs still came into play. And you say still a tech shortage ? So many pieces to why the tech landscape is what it is. My boy is back at dealership now after private shop for awhile again, positioning himself for maximizing his profit over the employers and selling his worth to highest bidder. He can repair and sling parts. Kid makes double what I used to back then as a 200% flat rate tech. Times are a changing it seems. Loyalty is a virtue, but not your best friend in the auto business unless you are either roped by contract or someone REALLY takes care of you, otherwise cutthroat to the top to get what you deserve. Ruthless business personally my entire 35 years , everyday was a struggle to stay ahead of the game or being stabbed in back. Fight the warrany clerk, fight the writers, fight the service manager, fight the sales guys, try to
get along with parts guys as you needed them. Tech shortage you say ? Easy to ponder now retired.
Standardized parts, service, training & hardware, simplification of repairs and systems. Works great but not so much of a profit model year after year. When I entered as a mechanic we rebuilt everything. Alternators, carbs, wiper motors, etc. all rebuildable over and over. I said back then that they will make it unservicable and they will sell you new as only the option. Exactly what happened. No zirks, tamperproof screws, SERTA trans. Can't sell new when the goal is to keep the one you have on the forever road.
