I’m proud to announce the 2024 impact report for @BrothersNBooks
Reading and education isn’t just the cornerstone of flourishing, it’s a chance to change your life, your thinking and your future with every single book.
In what is probably the biggest update of the charity so far I couldn’t think of anyone more appropriate to launch this document than the amazing team at HomeFront Australia who consistently support so many veteran charities. Sian Ballantyne David Ballantyne.
I also would like to personally thank Nicholas Butta for believing in not only the importance of the organisation but myself as well as a founder.
I’m also pleased to announce that our programs in the new financial year have been confirmed and we are now seeking organisations to support the charity.
From July we will commence and expand our programs all designed to get more and more Australians utilising Bibliotherapy. We will also amend the name of our organisation to better reflect our services to The Australian Bibliotherapy Foundation.
Workplace mental well being programs:
Community library program
Bibliotherapy course program and
Mental health and Bibliotherapy speeches.
Our Readers are leaders programs:
Words for warriors - immidiate Bibliotherapy support for members who are facing difficult periods in life.
Readers are leaders program - aimed at supporting children and providing them with a 12 month reading program and the books of course!
Education and Courses:
With thanks to the QLD Veteran council we will be launching our very own Bibliotherapy course to better capture the impact of reading and mental health as well as promoting it as a tool to support organisations around the country.
Our social and events programs including but not limited to:
Our online monthly book club
The Veteran Writers festival in partnership with Rod Henderson

📚 NEW NSW POLICE COMMUNITY LIBRARY 🇦🇺 👮♂️
“Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope.” – Kofi Annan
Proud to announce our newest library in Parramatta NSW for this incredible team of Aussie heroes.
Our police force are constantly relied upon day in and day out often with little respite so were thrilled to be able to support their organisation with a library filled with great books on resilience, perspective, gratitude, financial education and of course all the absolute classics.
Reading is to the mind what gym is for the body so the more organisations we can support with these great resources the better! #makereadinggreatagain #bookish
🚔 NEWEST QPS COMMUNITY LIBRARY 📚
“A library is an arsenal of liberty.” - Unknown
We’re incredibly proud to unveil the newest Brothers and Books community library, now housed in one of the Sunshine Coast’s local police stations.
This initiative is about more than just books—it’s about creating spaces that support the mental health and well-being of our frontline workers.
Police officers face unique and often unseen challenges every day, and we believe that access to good books can offer a moment of escape, a source of strength, and a pathway to personal growth.
A huge thank you to the Queensland Police Service team for welcoming this project into their station, and for the work they do every day to keep our communities safe.
One book can change a life. One library can change a community. One community can change a generation.
Even military working dogs love Brothers and Books community libraries 🐕
A big thanks to Ian Moore and his team at Moore Track Toys for their support in getting the newest library at 23 SQN FLT SEC up and running! 📖
“To acquire the habit of reading is to construct for yourself a refuge from almost all the miseries of life.” - W. Somerset Maugham
Newest Brothers And Books community library!
Proud to support the Joint Military Police Headquarters Officer in Canberra recently with their brand new community library!
It’s great to see so many organisations utilising Bibliotherapy as another effective tool to support their members mental health but also to build a culture of learning and innovation.
This library would not have been possible without the support from two great veteran comedians Medilinks - Michael Albrecht and Kara Robinson who put on a fantastic veteran comedy night last year to support the charity.
It also wouldn’t have been possible without the work of Taylor C an MP officer who was keen to implement a new and innovative way to get her team reading in the workplace.
📚 NEW VETERAN ORGANISATION
“To read is to fly: it is to soar to a point of vantage which gives a view over wide terrains of history, human variety, ideas, shared experience, and the fruits of many inquiries.” — A.C. Grayling
Very proud to support @wodongarsl with their new community library. RSL sub-branches taking on initiatives like this and engaging with the younger generation of veterans are absolutely vital in restoring and maintaining the legacy and proud traditions of our RSLs. We cannot thank their president and vice president enough for all their support in making this happen.
Also great to see some phenomenal books! 📚
Hope everyone has had a great week, found some awesome books to keep them company over the weekend, and if you’re in the SEQld area, stop by the @aussie_frontline First Responders Retreat to meet some great Aussie authors!
A final and special thanks to @FrontlineActNSW for their generous donation in making this library possible. 🍻🇦🇺
Newest Brothers and Books community library
Proud to support the SAPOL Child and Family Investigation Unit with another great community library for their men and women.
A big thanks to Officer Lang for working with the charity to support his team. It wouldn’t be possible to collaborate with so many organisations across Australia without legends like him—and countless others—who make these initiatives happen. We also need to thank Ian Moore from Moore Track Toys for the donation that made this library.
Without grassroots support and champions of these libraries—like @aussie_frontline and Officer Cameron L—these initiatives wouldn’t be possible. It’s a testament to how much we can achieve when we come together to support one another.
In Other News…
We hope everyone stays safe and dry with the approaching cyclone. Spare a moment to appreciate our Emergency Services, SES, @disasterreliefaus volunteers, and Australian Defence Force personnel, who are out supporting SEQLD this week.
Stay safe team and bunker down with a good book! 💦📕
