Perhaps too deus ex machina, but to create Tuvix only to have Janeway have to ultimately murder him is its own kind of plot cruelty. Logging his genome might've been too flip & having Q "fix" the problem likely would've only made more problems, but still....

Obvi they wanted Janeway to make the tough call, and anything else would've been Poochie-like, but why not capture Tuvix's genome and/or conjure Q (who was always sweet on Janeway) and have him make a copy of Tuvix, who could then disappear with Q?🚀Dean
