@anne__hedonia@kennardmatt That man's a mere symptom of the disease we know as 'British Justice'. A system which has serious form for ignoring/facilitating murder and collusion by both crown forces in countries around the world as well as it's citizens popping off to partake in genocide. #nothingtoseehere
‘In 1969, when homes were burnt out in Bombay Street, it was naked sectarianism. In 2026, on the lower Newtownards Road, it was naked racism. The same sinister, supremacist and toxic ideologies lies behind both.’ - Sinn Féin MP Chris Hazzard
Anyone Irish indulging their inner-racist in the last few days can take note that nothing has been said that hasn't been said about the Irish when they were the migrant, their dangerous religions, their uncouth, brutal manners, and propensity for violence...
Fun fact. For the 1966 World Cup, England debated denying visas for North Korea. FIFA responded that if any players from any teams were denied visas, they would relocate the World Cup, even at the last minute.
The community of North Belfast is made up of incredibly kind, generous and welcoming people.
Today I met with community and youth leaders, representatives from ethnic minority communities, and local residents in Kinnaird, Ardoyne and The Bone to offer my full support following Monday's vicious attack.
I also met with health workers in the Mater Hospital to offer my support during these difficult times.
In recent days, we have witnessed dangerous and disgraceful racist attacks across the North.
There can be absolutely no place in our communities for racism.
But what has not been recognised enough is the work being done every day by people at the heart of our communities to support one another.
Despite the disgraceful efforts of those seeking to sow hate and division, communities are standing together.
That spirit of solidarity represents the very best of us.
Thank you to everyone in North Belfast who took the time to speak with me today, and to all those who continue to be a beacon of light during these difficult times.
Sinn Féin is working in councils across Ireland to support workers and families and build stronger communities.
It was fantastic to meet our six new Mayors and Chairs to discuss how we can work together over the next 12 months.
Representing people from all backgrounds, strengthening public services and tackling the cost of living are shared priorities for us all.
As tireless community champions, I know our Mayors and Chairs will work hard everyday to create better opportunities and a brighter future for all.
Crazy that this is getting barely any coverage. This year’s European Press Prize was just awarded to an investigative report by the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant. It is entitled “What the Wounds Tell” and in it the journalists Maud Effting and Willem Feenstra document the cases of 114 children in Gaza under the age of 15 who were struck by a single bullet to the head or chest. Almost all of them died or were left severely disabled. They chose to document only the cases of boys and girls under the age of 15 (though often much younger: aged 3, 4 or 7) because these are children who can be immediately identified as such. “A single bullet in these parts of the body is a clear indication that these children were deliberately targeted“, the two journalists write.

I had 20 patients in my Pediatric War Injuries Clinic today, for follow-up care.
Of the 20 children, Israel had killed one or both parents of 19 of them.
A fantastic community activist bringing lifetime of experience as a carer, welfare advisor, trade union & community activist, long-time champion for ending violence against women and girls - I could go on. She's pretty incredible. Is cara agus comrádaí í liom - fíor bród orm 👏
Comhghairdeachas mór le @DebbieCoyle10 on becoming Chair of FODC last night 👏
Debbie passionately believes in ending the scourge of violence against women & girls and has chosen @WomensAidF as her chosen charity for the year.
Ádh mór ort Debbie, we know you will be brilliant.

Increasingly clear that Irish players want authorities to act to boycott this fixture
Coleman spoke powerfully - Irish Govt and FAI should heed the message and support Irish players
