We've followed the town heritage trail to learn about key figures in the history of Whitby - including visiting the statue of Captain Cook. We ended the walk on the harbour pier looking back into the town. #BPA_Y4
A brilliant first day! A little bit of rain, while we walked into Whitby but great after. A visit to the RNLI museum to learn some history and then to the current lifeboat station. Back to the centre for tea and s'mores cooked on an open fire.
This afternoon, we visited Whitby Lobster Hatchery. The children loved learning about (and naming) all the different sea creatures. We met Melvin, the lobster, who is over 40 years old! Afterwards, we walked up (and down)the 199 steps to the abbey. Time for fish & chips! #BPA_Y4
An awesome first day! After a short walk into Whitby harbour, we enjoyed learning about the lifeboats and the RNLI. Everyone got changed, ready to save a life at sea! We ended the day eating Sβmores by the open fire. Roll on tomorrow!π #BPA_Y4

Recently, Year 6 learnt and practised some life-saving skills, as they took part in CPR training. Hopefully, they'll never have to do it for real.

Reception enjoyed a trip to the Victorian laundry at Normanby Park. They washed clothes with the dolly tub and stick. After watching the clothes go through the mangle, they tried ironing. Some children decided they would rather work here than go to school! #BPA_Rec#BPA_History
