Students at Brown University in the US state of Rhode Island have begun a hunger strike, demanding that the university divest from companies profiting from the Gaza genocide.

The group, which is made up of Jewish and Palestinian students, plans to introduce a divestment resolution at the next meeting held by the university's governing body, and is calling on the administration to promote an immediate and permanent ceasefire.
